2ndhomes Kluuvi Apartments 2

This review concerns 2ndhomes itself, and not necessarily this specific apartment (the one we booked was, "2ndhomes Loft Apartment with Spa & Balcony by the White Church"). This was easily the worst apartment experience of my life. The key code we were provided with didn’t work - we tried it repeatedly. We then tried calling their “emergency” number. However, there was no reply. The result? We were on the streets at 10:30pm with nowhere to stay. In the end, we had to take alternative accommodation at a hotel. We went to 2ndhomes’ office the next day. They claimed that they’d given us the correct code. They also claimed that we hadn’t called their emergency number. However, we produced a video showing us entering the key code they’d given us. We also produced a screenshot showing our call to the emergency number. They said they would “need to investigate”, but that they wouldn’t be able to do so until the following Monday (three days later). We’d booked to stay for two nights. 2ndhomes told us the apartment was available for the second night and that, if we chose not to use it, they wouldn’t refund it. I replied that we would stay if they reimbursed our first night, and also reimbursed the modest additional hotel cost. 2ndhomes refused to do so, so we stayed at a hotel on the second night too. Our booking was to have commenced on Thursday 28 September, and it is now Tuesday 3 October. All financial matters remain unresolved, and 2ndhomes continues to make illogical and nonsensical excuses. We have received no return of our deposit, no reimbursement of the apartment costs for either night and no reimbursement of the additional costs of the hotel stays. I only wish I’d read some of the earlier reviews before booking. We feel deeply disappointed and saddened by our experience with 2ndhomes, particularly given the fact that the Finnish culture is known to be one of mutual trust and respect. In my opinion, this is a scam operation. If the Finnish police and/or tourist authorities come to read this review, please investigate!
