Gorgeous hotel with great staff. We loved the beautiful decor in the rooms in the maximalist style, much more special than the generic style of all hotels. Good facilities and location. We really appreciated that the staff would bring up any food deliveries we ordered, and provided cutlery and plates of their own - turning ubereats into room service!

We had a wonderful time at the Adelphi. The room was beautiful and comfortable, the staff were always friendly and the location was perfection. High Tea in the front bar was a special delight.

I stayed here for 4 nights over Christmas with my fiancée. Overall the stay was very average for the price. There is no accessible entrance, just a flight of stairs from the street to bring luggage up. Very dark, drab vibes in halls and rooms. Shower constantly going cold every 30 seconds. I honestly think my impression of the hotel would be better if the staff were more friendly. This place would have been really cool and modern about 10 years ago.

The best thing about our stay was the location, and that Nomad restaurant is downstairs. The walls are paper thin. To their credit they are nice sized rooms though, and are comfortable, with a free mini bar, snacks and welcome drink. Free staff were friendly and approachable. Didn't get to check out the pool but I've heard it's good. The room would have been rated a 4 if it had a working shower. The shower had two modes (both in trickles of water mind you): scalding hot or freezing cold. When we asked for it to be looked at, they fiddled and got it to the cooler side of lukewarm, which in a trickle felt more like cold (better than freezing?) water. They offered us a late check-out to compensate, but we had a train to catch. A comped upgrade or a free drink or a discount or *something* to make us feel less ripped off, or at least clean on our holiday, would have gone far.

Excellent location, friendly staff but highly over priced. I booked this hotel for a 1 night work trip based on the positive reviews and the fact that it’s a 5 star hotel. The staff were friendly and the location is sensational however this is not a 5 star hotel. You can stay less than 1 block away in other hotels for well under what the Adelphi charges. The cons from my stay were the fact that there was scaffolding outside my room window, but even if it wasn’t there, there would be no view. For $260+ a night, most other hotels in the area have a view. Secondly there is no restaurant as such, only snacks. If you’re after more than a cheeseboard or chips, you’ll need to leave the hotel. I can deal with all that however the bathroom and shower were not good. The water temperature in the shower went from cold to scalding hot regularly. The sink and vanity have a stainless steel public toilet feel that looks dirty as soon as you use it and the rooms are also very dusty. I would have given feedback on my checkout but was never asked and got a “yep you’re good to go” that was only halted by be asking for a tax invoice that was never offered. I love boutique hotels but for just under $300 with no views, no restaurant or even proper breakfast and a cold shower, I wouldn’t return.
