It was one of the nicest accommodations I have stayed in, this was due to the very friendly and smiling staff. Breakfast was delicious and extremely varied. On the first day we were greeted with a bottle of prosecco in our room, which was a great surprise. At the same time, I was surprised by the fact that we had everything we needed in the bathroom, including micellar water, as well as all the cleanliness in the hotel. Moreover, it is close to all the sights. I think it's the nicest place to stay in Florence, and Tomasso is the best receptionist :)

I am torn about giving this hotel only 2 stars because the staff at the reception and the breakfast room was always very friendly and nice. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. In the lobby you can get water, make tea and have some cookies anytime you want. The pies at breakfast are all very delicious. However besides the room is old, a bit dusty, it has in the past leaking problems so there are stains / mould on the ceiling. There is also the problem of mosquitos. I didn’t sleep well the first night because of it. I killed 2 mosquitoes the next day. The breakfast was good till we noticed some yoghurt expired. We informed the staff about this issue immediately but the next day same thing happened. Some peaches in juice tasted a bit sour. Some donuts were very hard, obviously laying there for a few days already. I would suggest the management to reduce the amount of every thing but make sure the food is fresh.

This was home for four nights and five days. The breakfast is to die for, the room is amazing, the temperature is regulated. They offered us teas, cookies , croissant anytime and on the last day free proseco...It was really home away from home..I will miss it.

I stayed at the San Gallo Palace in Florence last week and I want to highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Florence. I was in Rome, Milan, Florence and Lake Como and this hotel was by far the nicest. The room was beautiful, and the morning breakfast was lovely. You could sit outside in the courtyard which was a delightful way to begin the day. They also have a bar in front of the hotel in a beautiful outdoor patio. Our server Holly was so kind and just a pleasure to meet. She was not only sweet and friendly, but she was also so helpful to our group, who were new to this city. She answered all of our questions and gave us several wonderful suggestions to restaurants in the area. Meeting Holly was such a joy. If I ever get the chance to go back to Florence one day, I would love to stay at the Palace again.

Slightly dated rooms, very friendly team, good breakfast. There are a few mosquitos in the hotel rooms even in early january, that was surprising, but nothing too bad. But what is the deal with heating in Italy? This hotel was one of many we went to this year in Italy, which seem to all have decided to give people the one thing people hate about this beautiful country in the summer (Hint: excessive heat), now indoors instead of outdoors. Instead of walking against a wall of heat when leaving an air conditioned house in the summer, now in winter you get that experience when walking in. This was literally the case when you enter the hotel lobby from the outside of Florence in January, but unfortunately, due to the lack of control over the temperature inside our rooms, it was even worse in our rooms. Guys, I get it: Hotels can not allow each guest to set their rooms termperature like they want it, because it can not divert too much away from the temperature the whole house is set to. Same problem they have with air condition tastes of their customers in the summer essentially. One room can not be set to polar temperatures while the one next door is just right to cook its guests alive. BUT WHY would anybody choose to set the average house temperature so high, that you can not sleep without opening the windows? In our room, the little console to set the room temperature was broken (mechanically getting loose in fact), but minor things like that would really be OK considering the really good price of the hotel. Anyway: Breakfast was good and the crew very friendly.
