If we are ever fortunate enough to return to Budapest, Alta Moda would be my first choice. Recently remodelled with a consistent and pleasing scheme. Every single member of staff was cheerful and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. It was large enough that repetition could be avoided, and hot dishes were also varied around the edges, often with authentic Hungarian dishes. Location was excellent within an easy walk of the Metro and the central market.

Stayed in a nice, modern, spacious room on the fifth floor and really enjoyed the whole experience. The staff were friendly, the hotel location was superb and the breakfast was really nice and filling. If I was to stay in Budapest in the future, this would be the only place I’d stay and if the hotel was closed, I’d cancel my trip, aha!

Tiny room with frosted glass window, so no view. Air conditioning didn't work to actually cool rooms according to receptionist, who "could explain why but didn't want to". So we were baking hot as the slightly opening window didn't ventilate the room sufficiently. Breakfast was pretty good, but too small a space to fit everyone in at once. Some staff friendly, some very unfriendly and rude. Location was good. No bar or other areas to go inside the hotel, so you feel like you are stuck in the room. Wouldn't come back.

We were given a room (109) without a real window. The "window" which you can see on the hotelimages is fake. The whole glas was covered with a white sticker so you could not see through and it could not be opened. Behind this "window" was a chimney so there was no fresh air and no daylight got in the room. Of course the A/C was covered with a sticker and not working. If you want to sleep in a dark cave without fresh air and without any light you will love this place. The rest of the hotel is actually really nice. I thought mellow moods was a trustworthy brand. So I dont understand how they risk their reputation with such a room. PS: rooms 209,309,409 .etc. do also have no windows.

We stayed 4 night and had mixed experiences. To start with the good: the breakfast is outstanding, you have many options and pretty much all delicious. They clean up everything quickly and catering staff is friendly. Seriously rarely have better breakfast experience. The rooms and the hotel is beautifully decorated and modern. Location is great. Now what we did not like: we booked a deluxe room and we got the smallest room we ever been, which off course did not resemble anything like we booked on the pictures. Out of 4 nights it took 2 to put us to another room. This room then did not have AC working. The most annoying thing was that they kept saying that the first room was the delux room we booked and did not admit the mistake... It is a pity as the hotel is truly outstanding.
