The resort garden/ decor was very green and pretty like the pictures. However, we got a 2 bedroom villa with private pool and the inside smelled humid/mildew, the beds were hard, the bathroom had the tiled cracked, there was a shower on a wall with no shower door, we saw little spiders ... overall, it felt like a cabin. The private pool was made with ciment, not tiles, so not as welcoming. the walkways were pretty bridges but had no gates, so not ideal for our little 2 years old. We were disappointed because we paid more than most of 5 stars hotels in the area because we usually like the luxurious nature fusion, but inside the villas of this resort, it was certainly not five stars. We stayed 2 nights and asked the manager to cancel the next 2 nights of our stay - The staff was very nice but the owner refused to cancel and offered us another villa instead, which was the same "camping cabin" feeling, with the same smell.... we ended up leaving anyway, losing our money....

I would say, THE BEST Hotel in Siem Reap! Received us with welcome drinks, fruit basket and a Nokia mobile phone with SIM card. Staffs: Very friendly, polite, professional and attentive. We were given fresh towels everyday. Our flight was in the late afternoon and I requested to checkout at 1pm. The staffs were very kind and did not charge extra for our late checkout. I keep asking them if it alright and they reassured me that it’s totally fine and made our experience there even more memorable! Villa: They upgraded our jacuzzi villa to a villa with private pool. The room ambience was calm, quiet and smelled really good too. The room was very spacious, soft pillow and mattresses. We truly enjoyed our private pool as it was very big and clean. The toiletries smelled amazing as well!! Breakfast: delicious breakfast served in Alacarte type in big portions. Very friendly and attentive staff who carefully took notes of our individual needs. Tuktuk: complementary tuktuk service to the airport during our departure. Their TukTuk service from hotel is a little bit pricey however, the driver provide excellent service and wait patiently in each and every stops. The tuktuk was slightly bigger then the normal tuktuk so it was convenient and the driver does provide umbrella and iced water bottles throughout the journey. Hotel Ambience: Truly unique experience and we absolutely loved it! Rich greenery and very scenic view. It was very calming and peaceful experience staying in the hotel. Truly the best hotel in Siem Reap and Highly recommended!

We booked this hotel for the experience. We did not want to stay in a regular hotel, we wanted something unique that gave us more of an authentic Cambodian experience. The Khmer Village Resort delivered on all our expectations. All the rooms are surrounded by water, to get to your room and throughout the resort, you are walking on an elevated path above the water. Everything was excellent. The staff is wonderful. They offer massages on an island surrounded by a lily pond. The restaurant is great. And finally, our 2 bedroom private villa was a great place to relax. It even came with our own private pool. My photos speak for themselves. I highly recommend this resort. It's a truly unique experience.
