Azka Hotel

Really awful place to stay! The room we stayed in was dirty and has cockroaches. You have to pay extra (ridiculous prices)for literally everything even water. You are not allowed to bring drinks or anything else to eat for outside( security will check) When you get there you will be shaken down for more money. Will never ever return. I give it zero stars

Wonderful location, breathtaking scapes, beautiful beach and pool, but total lack of kindness and professionalism. We paid for those 5 stars but the service we got wouldn't even be given by a 3 star hotel! When we landed in Bodrum, someone was supposed to pick us up, as we had arranged a transfer from the airport to Azka, provided by the hotel. Yet, no one showed up so, after almost one hour waiting and after looking at every part of the airport to find out that we were the only ones left waiting, we had to get a taxi. Before doing that, I called the hotel to make sure whether someone was coming or not, but the receptionist who answered the phone just murmured that he wasn't finding our reservation and I should try to call one hour later! Totally uncaring! We would've waited if they'd said that the driver was running late but coming. But no, they didn't care about our request for help at all and didn't let us know anything. As we got to the hotel, we kindly asked for explanations but no one seemed to know what went wrong with the transfer. In the meantime they were looking for our reservation at their computer, after we gave them our documents showing our regularly prepaid reservation for 5 nights, but they seemed confused. Afterwards, the hotel manager wanted to talk to us. Well, he said that we necessarily had to pay €100,00 for the transfer anyway, claiming that they came to pick us up but didn't find us and that sometimes drivers can run late because of traffic reasons, so the transfer company would charge him for the transfer and we had to pay for it, even if it didn't work! He didn't even apologize! No, this is not a good excuse. Traffic is everywhere, not only in Bodrum. But a professional staff makes the driver leave on time considering traffic and doesn't leave customers waiting for so long without letting them know anything! That taxi costed one quarter of the non working transfer arranged by the hotel and was much more efficient! After cashing in our €100,00 spent for nothing, they magically found our reservation and one of the receptionists took us to our mini-apartment in the detached section of the hotel. Unqualifiable behavior! We were upset about that bitter start, however, we didn't want it to ruin our vacation. Yet, disappointments did not end here. The room cleaning service never worked during our stay. The cleaning staff came a few times just to make our beds but never cleaned, never changed our towels, never provided us with toilet paper or body wash, never emptied our trash cans. We complained about it at the reception several times and they kept saying that they'd make their managers aware of it but nothing ever changed. And no one ever apologized for that bad service! One of the many times we had to go to the reception and ask to provide us with at least toilet paper and body wash (not to mention towels and cleaning), they sent us someone who brought three toilet paper rolls (no body wash) and left them on the floor, outside, in front of our main door, without even putting them into a bag! As for breakfast and dinner buffets, they're lavish but of poor quality. Also, you can only find savory food for breakfast. No cakes, croissants or sweets of any kind. Maybe that's the way they use in Turkey, and I love discovering food customs of the countries I visit, but a 5 star hotel should propose a broad spectrum menu. Also, it's an old building and the rooms certainly aren't 5 star hotel rooms. I'm very sorry to say that this is not a 5 star hotel but it costs as if it was!
