Beautiful traditional house with modern features, set on a fantastic street in Kyoto for sightseeing. Great service and easy check in process near Kyoto station. Works well with young children and flexible bedding options.

A lovely Machiya to stay in and very comfortable to me and my family. We enjoy the interior looks of this unit and the bath tub. Very near to the pagoda and restaurant/cafe .However, location is a bit remote and need to walk to find this place. Recommend to travel light.

Staying at Bonbori-an enhanced our experience of being in Kyoto considerably. This is a lovely, cosy and warm house in the most amazing location (easy walking to historic sites and public transport). Everytime we came back to the house it gave us a "hug". We felt relaxed there and had great sleeps! Decor was stylish and had everything we needed for a 5 night stay. Would return in a heartbeat.
