Canal Resort

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿In England this is not a resort but a "motel" with a pool 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Not impressed as I booked here as a special deal with Agoda and used up all my "VIP" offers. When I arrived I saw the room was not what I paid for and she told me I hadn't paid their price for a "superior" and none were available. All in all I paid £15(GBP) as bout 670b per night for 1 person before my discounts. After talking and me explaining that it's not on me but Agoda I acccepted the room as she said she'd move me after 4 nights. I only have 2 single beds even though I booked a double, their response was to "push them together"......sorry but it doesn't make a double. No safe or hairdryer. Shower gel, towel and shampoo provided. TV with a few English channels. Fridge. Aircon is good. Electric fob sealed to key. Water/TP provided in morning like old style English milk on doorstep. No kettle however I was provided one after I asked. As things stand I don't think the service and rooms are worth it. I have a "garden" room however I'm surrounded by a car park and main road. All day and night the bikes are parking, revving and lights shining through windows so that I can't have them open much. The sound of the road can be heard all night. Last night a new bookin banged my door down at 2am as nobody was answering at reception(I'm in the carpark, #1 so I can understand I'm in the firing line)so no 24h desk and cameras don't seem to be working as the "new" guest roamed freely looking for staff. Lots of mosquito and cockroach however it's a garden down the other side and surrounded in lush green. Lizards,toads and wildlife is a plenty. Good fun if you love nature. When I arrived cleaning was emaculate but no daily house cleaning?? I crushed cockroachs that got in the broken grate in the bathroom, messaged them and asked for a clean and I'm still waiting...... Womans WC Drain next to swimming pool overflowed and nobody cleaned it up. Pool was green now it's blue? Very small but fairly deep(1.5m) Painful on eyes but when it is free it's nice and quiet. You can paddle but not swim in it. The young lady who I spoke to was polite but I just feel like as they found the amount I paid less than they put their worth ,that they've just given up on any consideration on my wellbeing. Also my true English is difficult for them, they speak Australian/broken "English" so speaking is frustrating and comical. The female chef who does the breakfast in the morning is a doll, always smiling and trying to be as helpful as possible. A real credit to this motel. I'll update with the next room but as things stand I'm beyond disappointed. The pictures are of the garden view I was "looking forward too" or I could face dead opposite and see next doors seating area aka terrace........
