Not recommended - amazing how this is rated as 4 stars. Area: Quiet neighborhood but about 7-8 mins walk to metro stations. Metro to hotel would be an uphill walk. If you have baggage or strollers I wouldn't recommend it unless you call a taxi everytime. Service: staffs are alright, not very friendly but not rude either. Does not really greet guests. Room: Terrible and illogical shaped rooms. Our room was in a pizza/triangle shape overlooking an inner courtyard. Washroom doors were translucent but due to the room shape if anyone turns on the lights the whole room would be lit. There is no sound proofing, you can hear upstairs, next door's noise all night. Doors banging shut or chairs being pulled etc. Constant cigarette smells coming up from the inner courtyard even though the windows were shut. Seems like staffs were using an exit at ground floor to smoke hence all the smell rises up. The same smell is noticeable at the front desk and it's early in the morning 8am.

We were given a room on the second floor in a fairly odd-shaped corner. Our room was right beside the cleaning closet so their staff starts making noise taking out the cleaning carts at 8 am. The room was like a triangle. Very outdated furnishings, wall paper peeling, and bathroom ceiling had dust. The smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway seeps into the room. the walls were so thin, you can hear next door, talking, putting in clothes, hitting things against the wall. The only window was facing an open area which right across you can see into someone else's room. Super awkward so we kept the blinds closed. One of the queen beds we had, one side of the mattress was sunken in. No amenities expected in a 4 star hotel, like lotions, toothbrush, razors, etc. just a plate with a shower cap and tissue. We stayed 4 nights, we asked for room cleaning on the third day. Complementary water was not refilled. There were some very disrespectful guests slamming doors at 3am multiple times. Loud group of people converse loudly in the early hours. They were allowed to smoke standing at the hotel entrance. Breakfast was 15 euros per person. Besides the lobby that looks nice, the front desk that helped us was friendly, the rooftop pool looks nice. I was so excited and looked forward staying here for the 4 star experience. This is no way a 4-star hotel.

Decent hotel, good for the price. Our bathroom was very modern and clearly redone recently. Very spacious shower with waterfall / showerhead options. The bathroom and the hotel in general was very clean. The gym is very small though as well as the swimming pool, but you're in Barcelona so just go out and enjoy the city instead. Metro station is somewhat nearby, but overall it's quite far from the transport links and on a very steep hill. Was fine for me as I'm fighting fit but I could see it being an inconvenience for others.

The chief of the counter is a very disrespectful person. She is probably a liar and thinks everyone else is similar to her. I made a reservation directly with the hotel. I told them we were a couple with two children. They said it was confirmed and charged my card weeks in advance. Finally, they did not respect the reservation and gave the room I had paid for to someone else. The next day, Randa (the chief of the counter) accused me of lying and charged me 30% more than the reservation value. It is a pity because other than the chief of the lobby, the place and the staff are actually good.
