We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Celine Hotel after booking online. We were very content with our choice which lived up to the description. The location cannot be beat if you are a first-time visitor to Istanbul, as we were, and you want to take in the "must-do" tourist attractions. If you do not have any mobility issues, the hilly neighborhood is very walkable with several transit options nearby. We felt very safe despite not speaking Turkish, even into the nighttime hours. (Standard big city street smarts is always advisable.) Solid restaurant options abound, but you pay a luxury tax given it is the touristic heart of the city. The room was a bit tight when factoring in our luggage. That said, the room and premises were beautifully decorated and always kept spotlessly clean. Breakfasts were wonderful. The front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. The building is a historic, older one so there were some minor misfires (occasional sewer smell in the hallway outside the room, briefly stuck in the mid-stairwell elevator). Especially considering the price, this was a truly fantastic option, and we would gladly repeat our experience!

My wife and I stayed at the Celine September 30 - October 3 2023 and this was our first accommodation during our 10 day Turkey trip. Overall, we would highly recommend the Celine if you’re looking to stay in the Sultanahmet area (“Old City”). The vibe of is a mix between boutique hotel meets high end hostel; where it feels like you are coming home every time you enter the building. Service: Absolutely impeccable host/manager at the front desk. They never pushed any services, guides, or tours; but simply provided their recommendations and presented you options. In fact… there were times where the staff suggested cheaper/free options because it made better use of our time. Daily breakfast in a beautiful open-space cafe that offers Turkish breakfast buffet AND with made-to-order omelettes which were delicious! Room: Extremely high ceilings which makes the room feel extraordinarily large. Cleanliness was on par with 4-star hotels and the water pressure was impressive considering the historical nature of the building. Given it’s close proximity to various mosques, we were surprised we didn’t hear more prayer calls; perhaps it was the buildings renovated walls/windows. The TV in the room had many apps available (Netflix, YouTube, etc.) where you can sign in to your own account. Location: Literally 2 minute walk to Sultan Ahmed Mosque (“Blue Mosque”), 5 minute walk to Hagia Sophia and Grand Bazaar. The close proximity to the mosques was great for us because it gave us the flexibility to try and visit early morning or just walk over to see how the line/queues look during the afternoon. Walking down to the Bosporus/Spice Bazaar was about 15 minutes walk downhill (aka 20 minutes walk uphill)

This is a late review. I stayed at this hotel a few months back. The location, the staff, the breakfast and the view from my room was excellent. If I could give them a 10 star, I would. The room was very clean and spacious and the bathroom was very modern and spotlessly clean. My room had a view of the Sea of Marmara. I witnessed one of the best sunsets from my room during my stay! The staff was very courteous, helpful and very friendly. The breakfast buffet was great. Most of the attractions in Istanbul were a few minutes away and within walking distance. I felt safe even walking late at night. I would love to stay there again.

During my stay in Fatih Turkey, we stayed at the beautiful Celine hotel. The location was perfect, walking distance from all the places we wanted to visit. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. They can also offer a tour of istanbul if you ask them. The rooms are great. The breakfast was buffet style and was delicious. Highly recommend if you plan to visit Istanbul.
