Place with a very 'strict cancellation policy'. Just consider for unforeseen circumstances that can happen prior your trip... My partner and I contracted covid-19 just 3 days prior our departure and decided to cancel our trip. I called in advance, but there was zero understanding of our situation, although the staff members I was in contact with were very polite. I understand, peak season, last minute, but the illness doesn't pick its time.. Fyi, was able to cancel another 2 bookings in Niseko, Rusutsu and 1 in Sapporo with zero cancellation fee. The same for flights within Japan, and only under 30% cancellation fee for our round trip from Australia. Our booking was just for 3 nights.

Clean affordable guesthouse with kind service. Simple lodging on the Higashiyama side with really wonderful customer service. Shared kitchen and associated with niseko ski lodge if you want breakfast etc

The area is quiet and has a nice view. It is possible to make a triple room using the sofa bed, making it ideal for families. Although I stayed without meals, I wanted to enjoy the stay with meals included, and the owner and his wife were friendly and had a nice atmosphere. The only downside is that the bath and sink are in the same room, so the sink and floor get wet after using the bath. Would it be useful to have a shower curtain?
