Very nice friendly staff. Nice breakfast and Nice lunch. I would consider travelling in December though. The Christmas music drove us completely crazy. Two days with continiously playing jingle bells (counted 11 jingle bell versions during breakfast) in the beach pool area and restaurant. I spoke with several of the staff and managers, but it was very difficult to change. After 2 days they managed to change to something different. A lot better, but the loop took only 20 minutes to run through so we heard the same Christmas songs every 20 minutes... Except from this it is a nice hotel i can recommend.

Pros: - Great location: on the beach, quiet, but also in the heart of / walkable to many shops, restaurants, and the night market. - Beautiful hotel with traditional Thai architecture. The room has wooden floor with many well thought out details - Great 2 pools: one ocean front, one for nice lap swim - Most helpful and friendly staff ever. And They are very nice and polite. The cleaning lady of my room did a good job and is honest. My husband left money out in the open and she never touched it. - the breakfast buffet is served at the seaside restaurant. Great view. And the table / chairs are very comfortable. - I like their library and various seating areas. They are furnished well and very comfortable to hang out in. Cons: - as many have stated, the wooden pathway needs improvement. It’s uneven and I fear someone will trip walking on it. The roof needs some power wash and the building could use some touch-up paint. - the gym is on the smaller side to my taste. ( I’m a gym buff.) it’s not big enough for > 1-2 people to do weight training at the same time. - the breakfast buffet can improve a tad. Generally they have a decent selection of fruit, salad, eggs, potatoes etc. The Thai food selection can be improved though. Someday everything is spicy which I can’t eat. Someday the selection has no meat at all. I’d like to see better menu design ( spicy + non spicy dishes, meat + meatless dishes). Good coffee. But I would like the hotel to put up a sign at the coffee bar informing guests to only use new cup / mug to take the coffee. Some people (not familiar with buffet etiquettes) re-use their old coffee mugs to refill their second/third cup of coffee. It creates an unhygienic situation spreading germs when their old coffee cups touch the coffee container spigots. P.S. I was debating between 4 or 5 stars review rating for the hotel given the pros and cons above. But I went with 5 given the hotel’s price point: my standard room is about

The breakfast was excellent! The room was terrific! Very convenient to the main street. I can’t understand why some people would say this hotel was old. The hotel is in good condition. Everything was clean and tidy, without a dust. I really enjoyed living here.
