City Comfort Apartments

This was a stay for myself and my husband and our teenage son, (we stayed in apartment 401, 2 bedroom) it was a really lovely spacious apartment with a well equipped kitchen, including dishwasher, large fridge-freezer, oven, microwave and all cutlery, crockery and cook wear you might need - could maybe have done with another metal tray for the oven, but apart from that very good, also nice touch was that things like condiments/herbs & spices were provided (as when you are staying somewhere for a week you don't want to have to buy these things) Also there was tea / sugar and coffee there to use. They had provided dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, cloths and tea towels which was a nice touch. The bedrooms were a lovely size too, with very big windows with a beautiful view of the mountains, comfy beds, with all bed linen (duvets sheets etc) provided. The bathroom was a good size, with integral walk in shower which was good, not the easiest to control but it worked. In the bathroom was also a washing machine and tumble drier with washing pods provided too. all towels and bathroom mat provided and toilet paper for your stay. there was a little balcony, with its own windows, which was nice. Perfect location it is at the end of the best part of the street (Laugavegur) for tourists, full of restaurants/cafes/bars and gift shops, and we could see the church out of our balcony too! There is also a 24/7 grocery shop directly opposite the apartment, which is so useful. I was not told that there are currently works taking place on the road directly outside the apartment, which means the road is closed off - on arrival I navigated to the apartment hoping to park on the road, which obviously you cant as it is closed, so ended up driving round the corner, which is a bus only area, much to the distaste of all the bus drivers who beeped at me rather a lot! (apparently it is due to be turned into a pedestrian area). Luckily we went to the on road free parking just down the road during our stay that they had told us about (just off Snorrabraut). So only a couple of minutes walk away. The only other off-putting thing is only small, but both the kitchen and the bathroom plugs smelt really bad, and could have done with a bit of bleach!

Just back after our short visit, stayed there for 3 nights, absolutely amazed with the location of this apartment, which is right in the centre, very close to all major bus stops (stop 9, stop 12 and stop 13) all tours starts from any of these stops only, also right across the apartment 24/7 shop which is convenient to buy grocery, food, hot drinks at any time.. Very clean apartment, with all amenities which you expect (Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Dryer, Microwave Oven, Electric Gas and all crockeries, Hair Dryer) since Iceland is very expensive, we brought our own groceries and cooked there, which much cheaper and convenient. We are typical Indian family, who expect all the facilities in reasonable price with full comfort and I can tell that we are very happy with this, price is little expensive (but cheaper than any similar Hotel). We will definitely go again to Reykjavik and stay there again...
