Good value place to stay, especially for central London. If you're planning to stay, keep your expectations realistic. It is very basic but serves the purpose of somewhere to stay for the night. Bed was comfortable. There is a kitchen you can store food items in the fridge. After reading previous reviews was worried about the wait for the shared bathroom. Longest had to wait was only a few minutes. Staff were friendly.

This is a CHEAP place to stay. Self catering in the heart of a strong community in Whitechapel. Not everyone's cup of tea, but for the price, it is brilliant. It is a fraction of what you normally pay. The decor isn't great, but the bed and shared toilet facilities were good enough. I will be staying there again in summer 🌞

Stayed here for a business trip for 3 nights. Selected this lodge as it was between £50-£100 cheaper than nearby options. The hotel itself was pretty well advertised. It doesn't try to be a fancy high-end hotel and available amenities work and are clean. Rooms are clean and hotel itself is relatively quiet. Also fairly well-stocked kitchen for those looking to self-cater. Main inconvenience is the single bathroom and toilet being shared between 4 rooms (some of them containing couples). Requires you to time your use of the toilet and shower well All in all, pleasant stay and 4 star rating as some parts of the kitchen could have been tidier

We knew upon booking that it was a shared bathroom, but what we didn't expect was for it to be in use for 2 full hours before check out - couldn't even get in to use the toilet. The bathroom was dirty and mouldy with no sign of the "complimentary toiletries" listed in the room booking unless you count almost empty bottles clearly left by other guests. The bathroom check sheet (which seems to have been a tick box exercise based on other critical reviews) was upside down and for the 10 July which is probably when anyone last went in to clean. The room was very basic, the bed was at least comfortable but the walls were so thin we could hear just about every person around us. There were also holes in the wall that had been shoddily patched. The door was very difficult to lock. The window was right next to the terrace/smoking area and didn't lock at all so we felt very unsafe as people were outside. We couldn't wait to leave, they are honestly scalping guests at charging so much a night, clearly taking advantage of being in London. Steer well clear.

Recently I and a group stayed at this hotel for an overnight trip in London. The hotel was very welcoming, updating one reservation on the day to accommodate one extra person. The service was friendly and the room was neat and clean. This does not claim to be a luxury hotel, and I think the price reflects this very fairly. Overall a great experience, and would recommend.
