Cosmopolitan hotel

01- The hotel allows smoking in public areas such as reception in violation of the Egyptian law and places ashtrays, which makes this closed area completely harmful to health "from inhaling this smoke” in addition that the air conditioning does not work as per images 02- The white curtains in the rooms are completely dirty and have severe stains, torn and large holes as per images. The width of the bed is just 90 centimeter and they have only rooms with twin beds, guests asked the reception to have king size bed rooms as per original reservation and confirmation but the hotel ignored them! 03 - The furniture is worn out and outdated, with major fractures and scratches. 04- The safe box in the room is closed and there are no use instructions, and all guests have to contact the reception to send an employee to open the safe and explain how to use. Unfortunately, the English language of the reception staff and the hotel staff in general was “very bad,” in addition to the fact that the employee asks the guest about the password to program the safe deposit box! 05- The general cleanliness of the hotel is very bad, especially the corridors, the carpets in are dilapidated, leftovers are thrown everywhere and none of the housekeeping cleans even ashtrays, empty water bottles, and leftovers thrown everywhere. 06- There are large number of workers from the State of Sudan who carry out hotel tasks without experience, and the employees of the housekeeping wear slippers and without socks as per attached images. 07- A person called Mustaf, the hotel manager and shares holder as he i introduced himself! , who does not have any hotel experience, he refused to provide a copy of the responsible manager’s license, he did not even try to solve the guest complaints, he instructed the reception to cancel the paid reservation! which forced guests to call the tourism police, which forced the hotel manager to Accepting guests, guests insisted staying for one night only due to their arrival at 1:30 am on the 9th of August23 and reserved another hotel. 08- The hotel does not take into account any principles of health and food safety in the restaurant, which caused the guests to suffer from gastroenteritis and diarrhea.

Being a very old building the bathrooms are poorly drained. Rooms are rather small (larger than most of the UK or European hotels of similar class though ). Breakfast spread is good. Al a carte lunch or dinner items are so so. For shopping and sight seeing a perfect location. Staff are cooperative and nice. Internet is poor, as in whole of Egypt. Still wifi has to be taken care of. Lifts need urgent repair.
