Dalat Edensee Lake Resort & Spa

This resort was by far one of the iconic resorts I had ever visited. Built just beside a vast lake, covered in pine trees, peacocks running about, beautifully designed buildings, and all located in remote silent area. The food was tasty, rooms were clean, the pool was clean, and the surroundings were well maintained except for one area with rooms where peacocks roam about more and poop all over the floor where no one seems to clean regularly. Although this is a five star resort officially, it doesn't deserve any stars due to the service quality. There were staff who were committed to their profession and made a difference but that feeling got quickly squashed by a few other staff's contributions. Keeping long stories short, the indoor pool was freezing cold. Upon inquiry, we were repeatedly told that it was indeed cold and there was no way to warm it up. We took the challenge anyway and went for a dip. When we looked around a bit, we noticed two big heaters placed nearby the pool that could warm up the area, which no one mentioned. After another thirty minutes or so and a bit more wandering, we managed to find someone who could understand what we wanted to do and helped us turn those on. They have to be turned on for a far away room that a gust would have no idea of. This experience left us questioning the stars they claim to have. Every room is provided with an umbrella. Being a group of three with a kid, we wanted to have another umbrella for obvious reasons. When we requested for one, we were given a half broken umbrella, which we found out later, after they managed to say that we will be charged 150,000 VND if the umbrella was broken or not returned. Luckily, it didn't break but this way of service left us wondering about the quality. A sauna was available for 200,000 per person per hour. If the pool is freezing cold, at least the sauna could be offered without charge or with a lower charge so the creative guests could find a way to manage the experience somehow. The resort is in a very remote location. There are no restaurants nearby. As a matter of fact, there is hardly any human presence nearby within 4-5 km radius. The resort being a five star hotel and being remotely located, we expected to have food at the resort and enjoy our stay mostly inside. Alas, the menu was limited and the food was quite expensive. Even the breakfast buffet was so limited that we got tired of it after the first day and we badly wanted to go back to the city to find some real food. The peacocks roam about everywhere in the resort and it is a charming sight that we don't often see. However, they poop in corridors leading to some of the lake side rooms making those areas dirty. The problem is that no one is cleaning them regularly. It seemed like someone cleans it one time around 10 am in the morning but that is about it. All other time, the guests have to be careful to not jump on them on their way in and out of the rooms. An indoor kids area was available with toys for kids to play. While playing in there, our kid managed to find a half eaten biscuit leftover inside a toy car and ate it in full faster than we could interfere with his joy. Needless to say that he got sick after a few hours and that was loooong way home. We'd usually expect the kid's area to be the cleanest especially in a five-star resort so this experience gave us the final nail in the coffin to never to recommend this place or come here again. In summary, we spent three days here and the only part we didn't regret was the environment. Taking a stroll around the lake in the walking path built by the resort was quite a relaxing activity.

I stayed few time because of nice location. One time I dropped the tea cup that they put uncarefully on the table for free drink. They asked me to pay 5 times of price they would purchase it. Another time, they charged me 5 times of purchased price of a towel that they said I made it dirty. Feel it is scam. Will never come back
