First interaction with the receptionist was pretty good, she answered our questions well and was nice in general. When we got to our room, it was a total disappointment. We expected a small room as it was quite cheap, but it was disgusting. The floors were stained and visibly dirty, the shower seemed moldy, and the walls were stained. One part of the wall had some very suspicious stains. The entire room smelled weird. The corridor outside of the rooms was also very stained and dingy. We checked out within 15 mins and got a new hotel in the old town instead. They cost about the same and it was MUCH better. Don't go here, it's not worth it.

No bad place to stay. Very close to city centre, walking distance. Cheapest rooms in town. I would recommend it for short stay in Riga.

It's definitely an economic hotel - but you get what you've paid for. The room and bathroom were clean, bed comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are disappointing though, totally not worth the extra 6 Euros. In total: for a short stay, for someone who doesn't have huge expectations - Dodo Hotel is OK. The neighbourhood doesn't look very promising, but it's absolutely safe (there is a police station about 100 meters away) and the tram station for line 7, which will take you right to the Old Riga, is nearby. Also: public transportation in Riga is super cheap and convenient, use it!

I would 100 percent avoid. We booked through a 3rd party based on fairly high reviews and stated free parking. Free parking ended up being on the street. Rooms were subpar on a good day. We had prepaid for three nights and left after one. They did make it right financially although we had prepaid nonrefundable rooms and absolutely responded with apologies and offers for different rooms. Efforts to recover were appreciated. But the subpar conditions simply were too much to leave us with any desire to stay. The pricing does match expectations.

Cheap, but acceptable for the price. A bit out of town, located within the old ghetto. A decent walk into town or get the cheap tram. Breakfast was extra, an Eastern European selection, adequate for most palates, you soon get used to it! The rooms are basic, but you’re not staying in long, though a kettle and tea/coffee would be welcome. There is a pay coffee machine in the foyer, not Starbucks/Costa quality though. The staff were fair to us, we had to change our room as it was cold (November) and the heating didn’t work. I would certainly consider this hotel again when we go to Riga again. Smashing city!
