I stayed at EconoLodge Times Square for eleven days on last december and honestly the hotel is awful. It's old and dirty. The room was cramped and barely walkable. Bed linen and bath towels were old, stained and even had rips. The toilet seat cover was broken and the shower curtain was torn. I confess that I expected more from a hotel located in a prime area and in one of the most famous tourist spots in the world. The only good points of the hotel are it's location, price and staff, who are very welcoming and helpful.

Well, we didn’t actually stay the night as the room was so appalling. The room is in need of gutting and refurbishing. The furniture needs to be burnt and replaced , along with everything else in the room. I have a list (and photos) of everything wrong with this room/hotel. For us the final straw, was no hot water!!! We were there for 10 mins then left to find somewhere that was at least habitable for humans. Awful awful awful. DO NOT STAY HERE

The hotel’s highlight is the location and price point for something in Times Square. The building is old and could use a renovation but the location and price make up for it. If you tend to whine or complain a lot, don’t stay here. This place is conveniently located to literally everything including good food spots and the subway. Front desk personnel were awesome and pleasant. They’ll keep your bags for you as well if you’re hitting up the airport later.

I had a reservation Friday. When I arrived, I was told the hotel was turned into a shelter. They sent me to another hotel that told me they didn't have a room for me. Choice Hotels had no idea the hotel was turned into a shelter. It left me scrambling trying find a hotel at midnight after a long flight. Unless you speak with someone at the front desk of this hotel and they tell you they are open to the public, do not book here. This was a total nightmare.

Stayed here recently and had 2 rooms. Horrible experience from check in to check out. Staff barely spoke English, even though rooms were ready wouldn’t let us check into one an hour early to use bathroom since hotel has no public bathroom. Rooms were dirty, sheets probably were not washed. One room, door would not lock and had to argue to get another room, was told to use the chain. What about when you leave the room? Response from desk person we are safe hotel no need to worry. Way over priced, many better places to stay nearby for a few dollars more. Avoid!
