Wonderful out of the way hotel (about 25-30min walk to Kaiser Wilhem memorial area. Clean rooms and bathroom. Fuel up on a great breakfast (£17), which is about the going price in most restaurants. Nice friendly staff. Would have liked a kettle in the room, or borrowed from reception.

Do not stay at this hotel it is not safe. I was robbed in my room while I was sleeping at this hotel, things were taken from the bed I was sleeping in and my nightstand while I was actually in the room. There is a thief who has access to the rooms either through staff or a friend of staff. I felt completely violated as I am a woman alone and there are lots of men on the staff of this hotel, much worse things could’ve happened to me because the rooms are not secure and there is no security! I have no idea who was in my room, what they saw of me. Absolutely disgusting experience. Ruined my time in Berlin.

Vey nicely made over to new elegant rooms. Clean and modern. Good cupboard space. Electric socksts. Usb for rechargeable phones. One small problem my room had a door conecting to the neighbours room and i could hear his noises phone etc.

I stayed at the Yggotel Spurv in October 2023. Very good value for the price. As a novice German speaker, I was able to communicate with the staff in English (and my broken German) with no issues. The rooms are not big (enough to hold a bed), closet is small (really, just an open concept wardrobe), but the bathroom is very spacious and full size appliances (shower only, which was fine by me.) If you're used to the huge suites you get in the Midwest and have never set foot outside North America, this room will seem small but it was perfectly fine for one person solo-travelling (could definitely fit a second person as well.) Appreciated the safe, and getting a free beverage from the front desk (beer, bottled coca cola, glass bottled water, etc.) if you skipped housekeeping that day. The elevator is small (one person + suitcase, or two-three people in a tight squeeze) but not extraordinarily small. Location-wise: it was a 10 minute walk to the boujie shops on Kurfurstendamm and a 5 minute walk to Adenauerplatz subway station. KaDeWe and Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church are a bit more of a stroll (25-30 mins) but fine on a day it's not pouring. I was also within walking distance to things I took advantage of (shisha / hookah lounges, Burgermeister, bakeries, Einstein Kaffee / Karamel Kaffee).

My partner and I have visited this hotel and it is a mixed experience. The beds are very comfortable and it is easy to get into central Berlin from there. But when it comes to the reception, we got a feeling of cold reception and difficult to understand English. As one of us has celiac disease, it is especially important to check for the gluten-free option at the breakfast table and maybe be allowed to read the inside of a package. On one occasion here we were met with complete incomprehension of why we should read before and several of the staff laughed at us and we were portrayed as ridiculous. Not meeting us with that understanding or explaining what they were laughing at gave us an unwelcome feeling.
