Booked this hotel just based on location, it's an average hotel, rooms are way smaller than advertised, we traveled with a toddler so in order for her to have any room to walk we had to be on top of the bed (added a pic of the distance between the bed and the wall by extending my leg from the bed, in reference im 5ft tall).Right off the back, we got an email from the hotel after booking saying they had no elevators or any AC units. There's no parking on site, but there's a parking garage within 10 minutes of walking distance. Our TV had no signal the entire time we were there, and yes, the stairs are very steep, and only one person fits at a time. We only stayed for 2 nights, so none of these were great deal breakers. As some people mentioned, we also had no room service while staying here.

We stayed in room 12 which is one of the larger rooms at the front on the 2nd floor. Check in was easy and the lady was really helpful. The room was really clean with a lovely bathroom and a great view. The steps are fairly steep but were absolutely no problem at all and far easier than a few of the places that I've stayed in Amsterdam. Being at the front there is a bit of street noise, but you're in the centre of Amsterdam in one of it's prettiest areas so is to be expected! Bring some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Free coffee and snacks were available in reception which was a nice touch. All in all a great stay for a couple of nights and I will come back here for my next trip to Amsterdam.

The rooms are a little small but that's normal for Amsterdam. The stairs are a bit steep, be careful. The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the center. The atmosphere of the hotel is very nice and stylish. I definitely recommend

Good location but felt like a budget motel/hostel, not like a hotel. Think everyone is giving this too many stars just because of the location. There was a lot of construction happening, tons of dust and supplies/equipment being left out, and no explanation/apology for the noise and disruption. It was super hot and they didn’t have fans for all the rooms (I only had one my last few nights). Lots of really steep stairs and no one to assist with bags. Got a bunch of spider bites overnight. The shower is tiny and the shower head is large so water gets all over the bathroom, which makes everything feel gross. My first floor room I started in had double doors that led to a shared space, and no windows so ventilation. I did not feel safe having large double glass doors looking into my room (even with a curtain), it made me feel like I was in a hostel. To switch rooms I had to pack up and check out by 10am the next morning and wasn’t able to get back in my new room until 5pm, they didn’t offer me a bathroom or other facilities during that time. So I basically had a whole day without a hotel room when I was paying for one. Also when I was given my key, the room hadn’t been cleaned yet and they hadn’t even bothered to check it. Bedding was itchy. Location is good and some of the staff was nice, but I would not stay here again.

We booked 3 nights in this hotel from 6-9 November, when we thought we were booking 6-9 August. Since we were travelling the very next day we chose a non-refundable rate. We alerted them immediately about the mistake. They refused to cancel our reservation for November, but offered to book a new room for August, basically offered us to pay double. In the end they did not have availability for these dates, so we made a booking with another hotel. Despite pleading with these people for a week, they just adamantly refused to reimburse us. Malicious compliance? Unethical business practices ? Or unreasonable clients ? You be the judge. Booking.com has not helped us at all either, even though they could easily pressure the hotel, given the huge power they have. As things stand at the moment, they are basically taking their commission on the two bookings. Avoid these people as well, they are not your friend.
