The guest house locates near JR saga-arashiyama station, around 3 -minute walk, very convenient for travellers with big lagguages. All the famous tourist spots like bamboo forest and Tenryu-ji temple are within 15-minute walk. The house owner is very friendly and can speak English quite well. He also sent us some recommendation for local spots (less tourist crowd) and restaurants. The room is in Japanese style with tatami and basic amenities. A good accommodation for budget traveller to consider.

Did not stay here but used their luggage storage service. Was en route to Kyoto and stopped by Arashiyama to go see the bamboo forest. All lockers at the Saga Arashiyama station were full so we found this place on Google. It’s very close to the station. They charged 800 yen per bag - worth it as we wouldn’t otherwise have been able to tour Arashiyama!

Place is very comfy and clean. It is just a walking distance from the train station & the place where many sakura trees are located. The host, Kenji is very helpful in showing us the map of Kyoto and where we can go visit these places. He was very hospitable and at the end of our trip he walked us back to the train station. Highly recommended & value for money is superb. Indeed it is a home away from home.
