Best place we have stayed at in Japan. The size of room was great with plenty of space for luggage storage. Location was convenient right near the river and bicyle rental and restaurants within walking distance. Owner was very friendly and accommodating and even offered us a lift to the station which was only about a 10 minute walk.

I stayed at this hotel in early 2023. I’m Japanese and My American boyfriend was visiting me in Japan and he booked this hotel for us. First of all, they gave us a different room by mistake which was smaller than the one we booked originally but they said they couldn’t change it. We went to the onsen they had, when we got out the owner was waiting on us then said “you only can use this onsen in the night time” I asked what time we can start using it, but he kept saying “night time” and didn’t say exactly what time which was so weird. They didn’t tell me that rule at all before and suddenly saying that to us was so rude. Also while we were staying there, there was a family with kids and the kids were so loud and running around. My boyfriend was so excited for his first ever Japan and Kyoto and I felt so bad for him. Honestly everything was so bad about this hotel. I don’t recommend it if you want to experience nice stuff in Kyoto. It sucked.

It's our first time visit kyoto and I think this was the best experience of stay I had compare to tokyo and osaka. I love the history and antique design of the house, location not the best but its conveniencely 6mins walk to the nearest station and local bus stop, road is very quiet and abit dark at night but i love to walk throught that small alley in morning make us feel like we are living as local life and from tourist crowd, nearby Hazuki have cafe what opened earlier than many other cafes. The owner/manage he was very helpful and friendly, I remembered on the day we checked out, he offer us to send by his car to kyoto JR Station but we already booked a taxi and help helped us talked to taxi driver to make sure he drive us to correct destination. I would highly recommend Hazuki if you want experience the most affordable , friendly owner, and plus the room is super HUGE, we got out room at ground floor, we have our own Dining room with bedroom, I love the floor warmer and comfy bed. I will come back again next stay and no regret to stay here. Thanks hazuki for committed to your best with affordable rate.

Gorgeous traditional Japanese rooms, many of the furniture items are antiques, with just the right modern touches to make the stay comfortable. This was such a unique hotel experience, if there are rooms available don't miss it! The underfloor heating is such a nice touch. The host was so attentive to our every need, drove us to the train station and even gave us an umbrella for the next leg of our journey. The hotel is in a great neighborhood, easy walking to many temples and points of interest, close to subway stations and good restaurants. Highly recommend, we only wish we could have stayed longer!
