The hotel is close to Rohrdamm underground station and the room we had was like every Holiday Inn I stayed at. What was the biggest surprise was the food at the restaurant. It was delicious. The staff at the bar and restaurant was adorable. The chef came out and asked us how his appetizer was and as we praised him for it he went back to the kitchen and we heard a cheerful “Yoohoo”. You really could see that he is a gem and loves his job. Needless to say, the food was great. The staff at the reception has a good sense of Berlin humor.

Honestly, this hotel is a mixed bag. On one end, the staff are super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is okay. But the general cleanliness and tidiness of the rooms could be better, not to mention they're a little dated, and don't have a lot of amenities. For example, bring your own adapter if you have a non-European wall plug. There is no place to hang the hand towel, there is no proper drainage so after a shower the bathroom floor drowns, and neither the tissue box nor the handsoap got refilled. Of course you can request these things, if housecleaning hasn't left yet, but fortunately the hotel's location isn't bad and there is a small supermarket right next door so you can buy whatever you need. I mainly stayed here because of a business trip with Siemens Energy whose right next door. But cannot recommend it for most other people.

After reading the 1 🌟, I knew our bad experience was not the only case, it happens all the time. We booked a room at booking. But the frontline lady told us there was no room left. What did they do then? They just let us cancel it by ourselves, which would charge us 80% of fee. The lady worked a very long time in that day, so that she was unhappy, we could understand. But we didn’t deserve that. The service could be better. Even if they couldn’t give us a satisfied solution, their attitude could be more gentle, there was no need to treat the customers so rude. They could cancel the booking for us or gave us another room (after ca. 30 minutes they did), but they refused in the beginning. As customers, what should we do then? Pay 80% of the price and go to find another hotel at 23? I believe there must be a better solution. Last day, we booked breakfast for our guests, she was there again, and said that our list was wrong, but the list was from their hotel. Our local driver came, she smiled and talk to him, but treated us so unfriendly. Before that happened, I didn’t believe she meant it, but I was wrong.

The room wasn't very good. The bathroom sink was clogged and almost unusable. The pillows on my side of the bed were both soft and very flat. But we're only staying one night. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very varied and delicious. I liked the pancake station and the variety of hot options. Coffee is good too, there's lactose free milk next to the filter coffee, which tastes better than the machine coffee. The pool and sauna were great. They're the reason we chose this hotel and they didn't disappoint!
