. We booked at this location because my 7yr old daughter loves to swim and online it said there was a heated pool. We’ve been to multiple Holiday Inn’s and use the pool area. This pool though, is near bone-chilling cold. There’s ice above the pool area where the roof is glass. And since the pool area is chilled like a refrigerator, and the pool an ice bath, it’d been nice to relax and thaw out in something like a hot tub or sauna, but they don’t have any of that. Therefore our pool experience lasted 8 whole minutes for the weekend. Also the rooms don’t necessarily have a couch when mentioned, it’s an arm rest chair that doesn’t even recline. So you better get 2 queen beds for your family of 3 since the standard King with couch isn’t available. Place was pretty clean and service was decent but didn’t need them for anything so didn’t interact much. Overall, it was ok but was expecting a little more.

At check-in, the staff was very friendly and accommodating upon our arrival. They got us into a room very quickly. I had one problem with the check in process and that was the $100 deposit that was not listed during the time of booking but it was fine. However, it's been a week and I still have NOT received my room deposit back nor a receipt for the stay. Arriving at the room was fine, the room appeared to look nice until we looked up at the ceiling and noticed that there was hole that had tissue stuck in it and multiple cracks in the drywall. We alerted the front desk soon as we saw it because we didn't want to be charged for something that we did not do, they told us that they already knew about it and that we wouldn't be charged for it. (But didn't bother to move us to another room.) And in the bathroom there were stains on the ceiling, most likely due to not having a bathroom vent fan. Housekeeping staff and the staff at the 24hr marketside were friendly and helpful. However, the marketside was too expensive . We ended up paying $50 for just a vegan salad and sandwich and two drinks.

I like the location, its close enough to walk to loop, river north, and west loop. You need to take two elevators to get to your room. The bed is extremely soft, not a bad thing, but my back doesn’t like it very much. My biggest complain is the low shower water pressure. Other cons including slow sink drainage and stained towel. It’s not a terrible experience but I expected better from them.

Great hotel. Very clean and in a great location the staff was very helpful! The only thing I hated was housekeeping waking me up every morning to ask me if I was still in my room at 10am. Yes, I am still here. I understand that they might be on a tight schedule but it's really jarring to have them aggressively knock and then wait two seconds to just let themselves in. Luckily I was in bed and not getting dressed or something. And no it doesn't matter if you have the placard on the door. Apparently mine fell off the door and they just barged in. Night owls deserve uninterrupted sleep too.

Great hotel. Are there two trips? Yes. Who doesn't like elevators? Lol. I thought it was great. Walk through a nice upper lounge. Only have stayed here once. And it was pretty strictly for business. Leave the room. Come back. Sleep. Repeat. The first room I was assigned, the bed was unkempt. Oops. They quickly addressed, and upgraded. I asked for nothing (just need a fresh room). The next room - same thing. Ha! But another room then given, and now even bigger. Don't know how that would happen, but I just need correction. Not one to push the matter, and they accommodated quickly without making me head down to the lobby. The stay was very convenient as we ended up working right across the street. Nice view for me, though there are some interior rooms that probably do not. Plenty of restaurants and accessible convenience nearby. WiFi was pretty slow. Didn't really need it so didn't try to find out if there's an alternative (like Ethernet).
