Save yourself the frustration and book somewhere else. I am a rewards member with Holiday Inn Express and this was the absolute worst experience I've ever had at any hotel. The first indicator that the hotel was trash was the funky smell that hits you in the face as soon as you walk in the door. The only reason we stayed is because our flight had already been delayed 4 hours and we didn't feel like traveling all the way to Colorado Springs at 1am. Next is the customer service. I'm not saying that all employees are crazy but the one who checked us in was nuts. She had the nerve to quiz me on how to spell my name because she didn't think the name on my ID was my real name... WHAT??? I'm still trying to understand the logic behind that. We get to the room. It's more of a MOTEL than a HOTEL. The lights are yellow which gives the room a dingy look. Hotels should have warm lights and good smells, Right guys?!?! They say it's a nonsmoking hotel, but I don't think their guest really caught to the rules. Our shower was dirty, so we just washed off in the sink. The baseboards where filthy which is another indicator that the cleaning is subpar. Also, they double charged me for the room and kept my $50 deposit. I called today and was told that the double charge and deposit would be put back. Let's see how long that takes. Now for the good stuff... the sheets were clean and the rooms each have a private balcony. I would never stay at this location again.

Worst hotel I've stayed in in a long long time. I booked my room on the app. I went to check in at the front desk and Daniel was rude and unkindly. I let him know that my family dropped me off so I didn't need the parking garage or the parking fee. Said he would take it off for me. Never did. I asked him if the view was decent from my room, he said I'll have to look and see. His customer service really just sucked. On top of that, my card was double charged for the entire price of the room with incidentals. Holiday Inn Customer Service said it takes a few days to post correctly but not to worry I won't be charged twice. The lock on my hotel room door didn't latch so it was hard to close the door and lock it. Overall, the design of the hotel was nice but that's where it ended. Customer service was horrible, the rooms were small despite how much you pay for a night, the bathtub didn't drain while taking a shower which is gross, and while I stay in a lot of hotels, I will be crossing this one off my list so I know not to pay anymore money for a negative experience.

The room was decently sized with two queen beds. But service could be better. I walked in to check in and the person working the front desk was on the phone. I don't expect him to drop what he was doing but I would expect him to acknowledge your existence and ask for you to wait while he finishes up. I waited for 10 mins without being addressed until another employee comes by and sees a line forming that the man working the front desk doesn't appear to even notice.

I stayed at this location a week ago. I was in the room for about 15 minutes, changing clothes and at the point of being naked, when someone walked into the room. I screamed and they left. I didn't see who it was. They hadn't knocked or announced themselves. I don't know if it was another guest or housekeeping/maintenance, but it was very scary and unsettling. I called the front desk. They apologized profusely and said they would find out who it was. By the time I checked out they said no one admitted to walking in and they didn't double book the room. But they said that they were pretty sure it must have been one of their staff and that I was in no real danger. They said they would refund my fee for the evening. I've contacted corporate twice with a request to contact me an no response. It's been a week and no refund or other communication. I gave them a week to make it right before I posted this review. Very frustrating and a scary experience.

I agree that this hotel is located in a neighborhood that has been bad for decades. I can remember going to breakfast a few times in the 1980s when this hotel and the Denver Renaissance hotel next door to it were newer hotels. One time when we were in the one that's a Holiday Inn now, my mother told me that she observed a hotel employee deny entrance to a man who appeared to be homeless back at that time. It sounds like standards of safety, security, and decently have been lowered if the hotel is letting dirty derelicts in to sit and sleep on the lobby furniture and in the entryway to the hotel. Circa January, 2018, I stayed in this hotel because I had always wanted to see what it would be like to stay in it. The bed sheets did not smell clean. The room also seemed very small. I liked the non-slip vinyl plank flooring and the mirror in the bathroom. I was only there for one, maybe two nights. The hotel had declined dramatically from what it was in the 1980s. The restaurant was nothing to write home about. This room did have a great view of the Denver Metro Area and the mountains however. I agree with those who say this hotel should be torn down and rebuilt, and that it should not be part of the IHG brand of hotels. One of two things should be done with this hotel: bring it back up to a classy, elegant standard; or convert it to an apartment building to house the Denver Metro Area’s homeless population.
