Decent hotel with spacious rooms equipped with fridge, microwave, and coffee machine which were ideal and useful for my relatively longer stay. Good lake view in the backyard but room is noisy if you’re overlooking parking lot due to planes taking off and landing at the nearby Miami airport. Room service can be improved a bit, and furniture needs remodeling as it’s pretty much wearing out. Breakfast is very basic and overpriced. I wasn’t very impressed with front desk support. I called to reserve a ride from the airport but I waited more than an hour without pick up. I also asked and followed up a couple of times to change my room to lake view but I was somehow ignored despite reporting my inconvenience about a bad smell in the room. I called Choice Privilege hotels chain to seek their intervention but they were useless unfortunately!

I wish I could give this hotel more than five stars. From start to finish, we were extremely impressed. It doesn't have a complimentary continental breakfast, which is a bummer for budget travelers like me, but we had to leave earlier in the morning than most places offer breakfast anyway. Our first surprise started during the free shuttle to the hotel from the airport. I made sure to book a hotel with a free shuttle as we had a roughly 22 hour layover in Miami. The man driving the shuttle explained that they would also take us anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel for free and pick us up for free when we wanted to come back. Wow! Then we arrived at the hotel at 8:00 AM hoping to be able to leave our bags at the desk and explore Miami without our bags. To our surprise, they let us check in for free. Wow! And the room was super clean and very nice. The separate living area with separate TV allowed the kids to watch TV while the parents napped (and we needed it after the overnight flight). Again, wow! After taking advantage of the free shuttle to get lunch and do some shopping, we enjoyed a stroll outside and were thrilled to see some iguanas in the trees around the lake. It was beautiful. This was absolutely the best hotel I can ever remember staying at for all the reasons mentioned above.

After paying $285 a night for our room, we were told "NO" when I asked for a glass of milk for my diabetic girlfriend... they want to charge us $24 a piece for breakfast "buffet" though the options are slim, or take a shuttle to the grocery store for a gallon of milk (plus tip of course). All we asked for was a small cup of milk! When I challenged the manager and stated "we'd get better treatment at a Days Inn" he replied with "fine then go to Days Inn"...so we did!!! We have made new reservations at their competitor next door for $130 cheaper and FREE breakfast for our return to Florida next week. Even Days Inn gives their guests better treatment!

The staff at the Cambria are absolutely awesome. The man who drove the shuttle, Barbaro, let's delightful and very kind. The shuttle driver will take you anywhere within a three to five mile radius as I recall. The hotel itself is starting to show some age but I was told that it is all being updated and remodel and will be called a Holiday Inn Express when it is done. If you need a location nearby the airport this can be a great option for you.
