Checked into this place and you get a direct feel. The room has some type of heavy fragrance spray it made us sick to our stomachs. Just terrible, so strong as if they’re trying to cover something up. We got the balcony suite which is sub par, very small compared to others. The balcony has no chairs to sit and is just filthy. Last year we stayed at the residence inn down the road, much better and we’ll be going back there. Wake up Hilton!!

We have stayed at Hilton hotels all over the world. I can say for the most part our stays have been good to great. However that is not the case here. We have been in this hotel for 3 1/2 weeks and my wife has come to know many of the staff. They have been extremely polite and accommodating to help her when she has asked for something. The staff has not cleaned our room because my wife being Asian has chose to keep it clean herself. Today we needed some ice and my wife encountered a rude front desk clerk that it appears to us she is racist to Asian people. Hopefully you will remedy this person

I worked next door when this property first opened up. My children & I also lived here for three months back many years ago. This is usually where we look to go 'home' to when we're unable to stay at our own home. I have to say that while there has been updates in the lobby & small things in the rooms, it is definitely time for the entire property to get an overhaul. The bathrooms really show their age. The bottoms of the door is wearing away. The shower surround is truly showing its age. The mattresses were absolutely awful to sleep on, my daughter even tried to pull out sofa over the bed (these appear to be the same sofas from when they opened). There was no information in the room that gave any information about the hotel; check out time, breakfast hours, pool hours, or even where to find the fitness room. Nothing. I was also disappointed that the front desk clerk got me checked in & just disappeared. While she was polite, she was a bit like Houdini. In my years in hospitality, you never left a guest standing at the counter even after you checked them in. The lady that was there when I checked out, was very kind & was at the front desk the entire time I was loading up. I also had asked for an 'accessible room with a handicap bar in the bathtub'. While the tub did have the bar, the room was absolutely not an accessible room. Lastly, the toilets felt like I was in a kindergarten class they were so low to the floor, which made it even more difficult for use, as there was no handicap bar by the toilet. I was definitely disappointed in this as a Hilton property & remembering what this property used to be like.

I can not say enough positive things about this hotel. Our family had an extended stay here for an emergency situation so I got to really know this place. I have to say the staff and service was so great. I give it up to management for assembling such a great team. We were greeted with smiles and great care everyday. From the housekeeping staff, to the breakfast ladies, people were so positive and hardworking. The place has it's bumps and bruises, but it's a three star hotel, so that is what one should expect. I found the location shockingly convenient. Between Chapel Hill and Durham, I could get anything I possibly needed in 15 minutes. From sushi, to tide pods, to surgery, everything's close.

The rooms were very clean, breakfast was hot and delicious, the kitchen staff ladies were friendly and always greeted me. Housekeeping staff never hesitated to provide extra towels, etc if needed. The front desk agent Ms.TeQowa Jones is extremely friendly, welcoming, polite, professional she was always smiling and eager to assist me. I would stay here again whenever I am in the Durham area.
