Good location only, but the rest of the details are very bad, from service to staff. Even when leaving, we asked to put the bags for some time in the reception, and when we returned, they asked us for an additional fee. This is shameful and does not happen in the whole world.

The worst hotel/hostal room I've ever been in. Supposedly a "matrimonial" room, #10 on 2nd floor. (I paid 120€/night) 1. Cracked/loose tiles throughout the floor. Could easily cut your foot on them. 2. No shower stall... there is a half-size bath tub which had been repainted that you can climb into. The paint on the tub is peeling. The (gross) hand-shower (easily from the 70's) sits on the tap... it cannot be hung up on the wall because the hook was broken... so it's a hand shower). There is a cheap plastic shower curtain. 3. There is mold on the ceiling above the shower. 4. The air conditioner worked, but the remote did not and was missing the battery cover... batteries kept falling out. 5. Many regular channels on the TV were blocked I stayed there for three nights, paid 120€ per night. THE ELEVATOR/LIFT was OUT OF ORDER on THREE OCASSIONS while there--including the morning I checked out (hence carrying my bags down two long sets of stairs.

Clean room and sheets, but room is extremely basic and Spartan. Cold white light really doesn't help, and the whole building is very echoey meaning you can hear when every guest comes and goes in the middle of the night. Could be cheaper for what you get!

I read the reviews of this Hostal and thought it was exactly as shown in the pictures. Hostal is not as clean as it looks, musty, smell old, bathroom dirty, small TV close to the ceiling, room had a balcony with view to the Fuencarral street, which is VERY NOISY, if you are a light sleeper, forget it... people talking all the time...and music below the room. No breakfast, nothing in the room to fix some coffee in the morning, Wifi didnt work at all. Needless to say, after a 9 hour travel and exhausted, find myself then looking for another place to stay. Thank God we find one closeby.. The only good thing this Hostal has is the location, that's it.!! If you are use to stay in a 2 or 3 star moderate clean,hotel, then, this is not for you. For a little bit more you can stay at a better hotel in Gran Via. Will not recommend.
