We stayed in this hotel in the mid of Aug. Prefect location. Air conditioning and super tidy rooms are amazing. Their elevator is good. The receptionist are nice and helpful. They helped us to call the restaurants and booked the taxi service. We felt safe and happy. Hotel Alhambra was the best choice for us in France. France, we will back soon!

The good: The location is very good. There are some great shops nearby as well as the rail which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel for quick access around the city. The rooms were nicely made with nice lighting. The bed was okay, and we had quite a few pillows. The rooms windows opened. We were on the 3rd floor which had a great view of the garden below. The bad: Our first room very obviously had a smoker who stayed in it. We informed the manager immediately and he came in and said it did in fact smell like smoke and then got upset that we had put our backpacks on the bed because in his words “how can I sell the room” if the bed sheets were ruffled. The hotel is incredibly cramped. Small hallways, smaller elevator. The elevator is in horrible shape. It doesn’t come fully flush with the floor which creates a tripping hazard. It also flat out stopped working on our last day, which means we had to climb down three flights of stairs with luggage. The hotel makes you turn in keys whenever you leave which made us uncomfortable. Anyone could come in and ask for a key. They didn’t ask for any identity before giving our keys back. The cleaning staff also cleaned our room when we placed the placard to “Do Not Enter”, which made us uncomfortable and felt like a breach of privacy. They also scan your passports and keep them on record. All in all, I would avoid this hotel. There are better alternatives and this one is absolutely a miss.

My parents left their coats in their room during a trip for my wedding in September, and when they realized my husband went by the hotel immediately to ask if they’d been found. The front desk staff was rude to my husband and told him they never saw the coats. I wrote them a nice email hoping that might help, but they never bothered to reply. My parents stayed here for literally every visit since I moved to Paris 10 years ago, well, this has been the last time. Really disappointing.

An unpleasant stay. Felt incredibly unsafe after putting the do not disturb sign on our room and coming back to find the cleaners had cleaned the room. When we complained we were told that we needed to tell reception if we didn’t want our room entered because “other guest might remove the sign”. When we stated that we were not told this when we checked in and asked what the point of the sign was then he simply repeated that we needed to tell him. On top of this we were required to leave the room keys with reception every time we left the premises and there was zero security when collecting it again. Anyone could collect any room key by simply asking for that room number.
