Hotel Am Schubertring

This hotel has unprofessional staff, no facilities, outdated furniture, smelly and stained carpets. There are no valet services and the hotel lobby is very small, and cramped up. The receptionist who checked us in, didn’t even bother to show us where our room was and no assistance in luggage. After we entered the lift, we found out the hotel is all on the attic floor or under roofs of the building, they instead picture the entire building even though the hotel only owns one floor and the basement. After we went up to our floor , we were greeted with a damp-smelly corridors and the carpets were really dirty in desperate need for a change, and there were random tables sitting in the corridor along with random paintings and posters. The whole floor was like a maze, navigating the way to the room is a task especially when there is no one to guide you. When we entered the room there were no proper windows or view. Extremely small suffocated room.The rooms were not soundproof so all the noise in the common areas came to our room at night. There is also smoking smell in corridors and common areas and the hotel is not at all kids friendly. The wash basin was clogged throughout our stay and same happened with the bathtub. You also have to bent down to take a shower because of the slanting roof. There was also no proper hand soap or toiletries such as conditioner or dental kit. The room was also feeling temporary with low quality furniture. The housekeeping rations stuff such as TOILET PAPER. They don’t replace coffee, tea bags, or creamers, doesn’t wash glasses. They do housekeeping at 4 pm that too after several reminders. There is no room service. The old lady at the reception who runs the hotel is very rude. Be Aware: During our stay we got an email from the hotel asking us to pay a fine. Blamed us for stained carpets and smells. They are just trying to make money to replace their old carpets and finding unreasonable reasons to spoil vacation of guests. While checking out they apologized as there was no smells or stained carpet done by us. Highly unprofessional. We had six nights in nightmare. An absolute waste of money.

NO AC!! The hotel is in a decent location, and the lobby is clean. But that is the extent of positive interactions we had with the hotel. We booked 2 rooms, they put us in a regular room and apartment 33a. Even though the hotel lists AC as an amenity they only list “fan” in apartment 33a and you are supposed to just assume that one room which is the same price as the others is not air conditioned. Couple this with the incredibly rude and disrespectful desk manager, we decided to stay out of the hotel a few nights since they refused so move our room or offer any reimbursement. They simply gave use a rotating fan and told us to open the windows. Keep in mind it was approximately 92°F in the room all week. There were bugs, uncomfortable bedding, and a couch that they consider a bed. We sent this information to the Austrian travel and tourism office as well.
