This hotel sucks. It is old, the rooms smell old, and the service is very poor. I don't know what the smell is in our room but is is very unpleasant. We have an atrium view room and they booked a wedding during our stay, which they did not inform us of when we checked in. The wedding is lovely but extremely loud from our room which overlooks the wedding. They offered us a free non-alcoholic drink to compensate us for the noise. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever experienced in my travels. Please do not book your vacation here, you will be sadly disappointed. Oh yes, while relaxing in our room, workers appeared unannounced to perform repairs. This place is decrepit. Do not stay here!

The hotel Continental Saigon is a heritage hotel established in 1880 is not your modern hotel stay but rather has a charm on its own, heavy wooden beds and solid wooden floors and beautifully crafted wooden stairs. Having breakfast in the cosy courtyard is a cheerful greeting to the morning. Guests are spoiled for choice in the breakfast spread offered.

We were supposed to stay here 3 nights but checked out immediately after one. If you’re an international traveler looking for a true 4 star experience this is not it. The exterior is beautiful sure. And I respect that it’s the oldest hotel in Saigon but my god they need an update to the interior, the rooms and better service. The AC barely worked, our room was blazing hot despite having it on the lowest temperature all night, water pressure was non existent and overall the decor felt dirty and old. Not even close to being worth how much they charge. So many better newer hotels. Sorry but I was very very disappointed. We booked because Tony Bourdain stayed here but that was yeaaaars ago no way in the world he’d stay there now (if he was still with us).

Beautiful hotel built in 1880, heritage colonial well kept building with such a history behind it. Location and staff are both fantastic. Breakfast is super yummy with many choices. Near malls, shopping and historical landmarks, it is walking distance to everywhere. Not a glamorous/luxurious vibe if that is what you are looking for, but hey, how many times you have a chance to stay in a 143yrd old hotel.
