Perfectly good hotel. Short walk from Brussels midi station. The rooms were clean and smelt nice. Didn't need anymore than a bed and bathroom. Bed was comfortable. The only downside was the pillow was more like a cushion but I survived for 2 nights. Would stay again

Nice spacious clean rooms with modern bathroom and shower. Excellent service by reception staff, good communication before arrival and recommend the hotel parking. All in all good value for your money and the location is very good as well.

I have no Idea why some people moan about this hotel. I have stayed here twice and it has been perfectly fine each time. It is a cheap hotel near Brussels Midi. What exactly are you expecting for £50 a night, The Ritz? Get over yourselves.

Stayed here for five days. If you’re traveling with a group of 2, this hotel is comparable to the price of a hostel but super comfortable! Spacious shower, very clean rooms, good wifi, 5 minute walk to train station and 20 minute walk from all the tourist things! 24/7 reception. Some noise from construction but hopeful that’ll be done soon. Would happily stay here every Brussels visit.

**Avoid at all costs** SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR HOTEL DE FRANCE: • Take a fan or make sure the fan in your room is working, you will be thankful for it as there is no ventilation, air con or breathing air in this place. The window backs onto a greenhouse like space that lets even more hot air into your room. The food and drink you buy will be sweaty and warm before you know it. • Make sure you get a low level room, this will help you stay cool. • Practice your social skills as you'll need a lot of patience with the reception, although helpful, they seemed clueless in their jobs. • Just like you see in the movies, the zombies really do come out at night so get yourself in the room by night fall. • Get noise cancelling earphones or good quality ear plugs, you'll need them! If you sufficed the heat, the loud noises will get to you. • Your pillow will be tiny, which mocks you as they put it in a normal sized pillow case and fold it over. Make sure you have some soft clothes to pad it out. • Take your own everything, this place doesn't even give you a standard hair dryer. • Lastly, just avoid this place. Its cheap and now you know why.
