If the room is cheap enough it is worthwhile. Toilet shower common room everything is traditional. Not for female. But this hotel used to be room for day laborers.

Hotel Diamond is in a perfect location (just a 7 minute walk to Sinsakai) but surely you can find other budget hotels, or hostels in the same area. But unless your budget is extremely tight, don't go to this hotel. A night would cost you only 1,000YEN (yes that's around US$8,00/night). Shared bathroom. I mean literally. As in, you will be showering naked together with middle-aged to senior people (mostly Japanese) like you're showering at the gym. It was funny on my first night when I joined a walking tour group, and the tour leader was walking us around the block, which he described as the 'slum area' of Osaka. I just kept very quiet as we walked past Hotel Diamond. The tour guide said this is where unemployed or itinerant locals sleep for a few nights (they're not allowed to live there permanently) so they hop from one similar accommodations to another. Gun possession is not allowed in Japan, so the crime rate is almost non-existent in this area (at least that's what my tour guide told us). I felt quite safe walking home at night. Again, this is a good place if you're on a tight budget. You'll have your own small room with air-conditioning, and a small bar-fridge. Toilets are shared also but is separate from the shower room.

Clean room, nice working AC. Cheap price. You get what you pay, there's no internet connection to your room. 1 lazy and 2 friendly dogs🥰

For 1000yen a night its an excellent deal for the traveller or backpacker. The shower is terrible but make do, if you cant then walk 5 blocks to Spa World and bath in 5star luxury. Food can be bought next door to this hotel that comprises of a wide variety of meals for 120yen, an amazing way to save. The hotel is also a 10min walk from Tenoji and the highest building in the city, 10mins from Shinsaibashi and Dontonburi for shopping, eating and partying. The can walk 10mins to Osaka castle and the ZOO. The hotel offers free bikes so you don't have to pay subway and bus fair. The staff speak English, there are plenty of travellers to meet, and not a dull moment as the 5 block around the hotel is one of the places in Japan you can see homeless, drunk and deranged street people yelling, laughing and fighting. Great hotel, though terrible in a literal sense.
