Only ate here, so can't comment on rooms. Very good trad Czech (or what a tourist like me thinks is trad) food. We had lamb knuckle (or shank) and beef goulash. Nice cider too. Very convenient location, just off main square. Probably not as pricey as those on main square.

Stay in a 700 year old building. I stayed at the black elephant for one night with my elderly father. The hotel itself is amazing; 700 years old, great staff, charming, nicely appointed rooms and located on the old square with the best views of this great city just yards away. The only downside (and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the food. It was good just not as good as the prices demanded.

Room facing the street was noisy and rising sun woke us up at 7. Blinders were insufficient. Lift to 2nd floor, then stairs to third floor and they were a bit tricky. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was ok.

We came across this hotel/restaurant on our last day as we were strolling around the Old Town. We noticed the menu was extremely varied at a good price so visited for our last meal in Prague and we are so glad we did! We had the Lamb Shank meal which was absolutely delicious, and very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and spoke great English. Even when it got busy it still had a calm and quiet atmosphere and service was quick. Definitely recommend the restaurant if you are looking for somewhere to eat.
