If you're looking for a modern hotel, this one's not for you. The hotel is old and charming, situated in a beautiful location overlooking Wengen. The staff were very nice and inviting and breakfast the following morning was nice. And if you like dogs like us, you'll be greeted by the hotel's cute little doggy. We had a room with a balcony which was lovely, but the room itself was very small for the money paid. The decor was old fashioned but clean. Overall a nice stay.

Stayed in this glorious hotel for 3 nights. The staff were excellent and the hotel old-worldly with old French music playing in the lobby and dining area. They also went out of their way to help me with my gluten free meals. I would highly recommend this hotel.

If you are looking for a standard luxury, this place is not for you. Here you will feel like being back in the 20‘, for real. Including the perfect and noble service, music, food. Amazing team, feel like family. I will be back!

Are you thinking of staying in Lauterbrunnen or some out-of-way hotel?… Think again because you’d be silly not to experience what the beautiful Hotel Falken offers. Location, location, location - pick your morning route up the mountain from your balcony. And make sure you get up on the right side of the bed with a comforting and warm buffet breakfast in the dining room. We were very impressed by the proactivity and warmth of service given by all staff from start to finish of our stay. For instance, their willingness to go above and beyond when my partner hurt his ankle after a day out hiking, portered from Wengen station to room door… no questions asked. The team and quality of facilities at Hotel Falken puts them far beyond their neighbours - we will be back again soon!!

The main issue is this hotel is understaffed. We were part of a group tour that stayed for two nights (a tour group that’s been coming for years). We were seated at group tables the whole time, too close together, and not allowed to sit at other tables. It was nearly impossible to get out from where we were sitting. Yet, most of the restaurant was empty (there was plenty of room to spread us out). For the buffet, no one came around at all to ask for drink orders, and never refilled our water. Coffee is made individually for each table, and took a while to get to each table (why not offer a large basic coffee dispenser for self-service?). The hotel is beautiful downstairs in the shared rooms, jazz playing as you enter (love this!). The hotel rooms are quaint, but very old an in poor shape. Pillows are terrible (very flat and uncomfortable even with two). No hair dryer or air conditioner, and AC is needed in the summer. I felt overall that we as a group inconvenienced the hotel by our stay. I would not come back to this hotel again.
