Old traditional building, rooms and bathrooms are fitted out accordingly due to age of hotel. Very comfortable and clean rooms despite the age, bedding was very comfortable, slept great during our stay. Upstairs breakfast is a must, great selection and start to your morning with view of the Trevi, this also acts as a bar during the day and evening, the cocktails are excellent. The staff in kitchen/ bar and reception were all lovely and extremely easy to deal with for the whole stay. Great central location, highly recommend for a couple visiting Rome.

The air conditioning is not working we were FREEZING!! and literally no one cares I called the receptionist and she refused to move me to another room with a functioning air conditioner instead she send me a guy to fix the AC and yet it’s not working. So the house keeper came and the poor lady was trying to help me.. EXCUSE ME where are the reception why is no one cares

The location is great. The room, at least 101, is not. The AC unit made a loud ticking noise all night - it honestly sounded like electrical arcing, but nothing caught on fire, so who knows. The bathroom and shower were... difficult. The shower is small (which is to be expected) and the curtain pretty ineffectual (also not a surprise), but the shower drain didn't work, so the choice was either to shut off the water every 2 minutes, or allow it to overflow into the general bathroom floor drain (turns out the latter is the way to go, and I didn't even bother with the curtain). The towel rack sticks out over the toilet and is perfectly positioned to bruise my spinal column when I tried to stand up. The trim work is falling off, the beds are not great, the (loud) AC works just barely well enough, the staff is just fine, and the whole room felt fairly dirty. The "rooftop" bar is nice, but it isn't really on the rooftop, its an area with a window, and there are 4 (more like 3.5 chairs that can actually see out of the window. Having said all that, I can't give it one star because when you walk outside, you're looking at the Trevi Fountain. So that's great.

Enjoyed my stay here #@HotelFontana. My room was on the 3rd floor with the Trevi view. This hotel's location was so centrally located, it's awesome to just be able to walk to the Spanish Steps or the Colosseum etc. Be prepared to drag your luggage to the hotel since taxi does not stop in front of the hotel. The attendants here are really nice and accommodating. Isaac was helpful.they had 24 hr service. Our room on the 3rd floor was good enough for 2 people. The window was in the middle of the room which looked outside the Trevi. You can hear the noise outside when the window is open. Otherwise, you mostly hear the water occasional loud chatter, the police whistling at roudy tourists. I can only hear more noise when there was someone who got engaged that the crowd clapped and cheered. This place is very walkable- so many restaurants and shops nearby. McDonald's is down your left and food there was great lol The bathroom was good sized. As an American, I'm used to using toilet paper and not a bidet, so I wasn't too comfortable using the amenity. The room was provided with toilet paper, but there was no place for a tp holder. I used the door handle as a tp holder. Our room (305) had a good-sized tub/shower combo. I had difficulty keeping the water in since there was no shower curtain and there was only a swinging glass door half way through the tub. Part of the shower walls had mildew- I think they just need to scrub this out. The breakfast was the usual prosciutto, cheese, breads- no scrambled eggs/omelet- just hard boiled eggs. The view was nice during breakfast at the rooftop, and the ladies who were there gave great service. The cappuccino I enjoyed. One negative thing I will mention is there was a standing water smell every time I came back in the room. I think it's the water from the Trevi?? The smell went away once you get used to it after a few minutes- opening the window doesn't make it go away.

I booked the rooftop bar for my birthday celebration this past Sunday and I’m writing this review because the staff that took care of us was absolutely amazing. The woman who was the chef made my family and I the best lasagna I had in 9 days in Rome and an amazing birthday cake that was way better than the very expensive one our 5 star hotel got for us. The bar tender and server were also extremely hard working and friendly. They all 3 deserve 5 stars and a raise from their boss. They did amazing despite the insane heat they were working in. The location is obviously amazing too!
