We checked into this hotel for a 2 night stay on our latest vacation. The hotel is situated in a rough area - there were several inebriated, unkempt, and loud individuals loitering around the area, both during the day and night. These individuals were too comfortable approaching anyone in the streets and made us very uncomfortable whenever we left the hotel. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the main station in Hamburg but if we had our time back we would have chosen elsewhere due to the local area. The staff were friendly and attentive and our check in process was straightforward. No issues on their part. The room itself was spacious and clean and had a comfortable bed. The main issue was the lack of sound insulation. You could hear people moving up and down the hallways and your neighbors on other sides of the walls. You can also hear people outside on the streets who seemingly like to go all night even on week nights.

The hotel had very basic facilities, no kettle or fridge in the room, and the safe didn’t work. Additionally the WiFi which is advertised on the website does not work and according to other reviews, has never worked. The breakfast was basic. The room was good and its size was also very good however. Only major fault is that it is false advertising to say there is WiFi in the hotel.

The staff were nice enough. The facilities themselves fairly outdated. Nice breakfast buffet. The rooms were clean and that’s about the best that can be said about them. The worst parts were the smell of urine in the stairwell outside our room, the ever present homeless people outside the entryway and around the building. People yelling all hours of the day and night made it feel unsafe and not the least bit restful. Our balcony door didn’t close all the way so the yelling at 4 am was not the best way to rest. If it were extremely affordable that would be one thing…but it was not. If you’re traveling with family I would not recommend staying here. Being close to public transportation was not worth it.

Unfortunately, not a very pleasant experience. Rooms are small, with an unfriendly geometry, one of the beds being placed with the head exactly next to the entry door. Matress not the worst, but also nothing out of the ordinary. Bathrooms are small and not appealing. Temperature in the room very low. Location (which pf course can’t be changed), is hundreds meters away from a nice shopping area, the railway station, but also exactly on the street known for the high criminality. Sorry, not a recommendable experience.
