This place...when we got there, the front desk man was very rude, like it was an inconvenience for us to be checking in. I asked a question,and I seemed to have annoyed him as he was shuffling papers around slamming them on the desk. We got to our room, and I will have to say, it is the first time in my life I stayed in a crooked room. They had molding in the middle of the ceiling that was crooked, because the walls and floor were crooked. I kept banging into the wall. It actually became a joke with us. We had two windows that were covered with film, so u couldn't see out and you also couldn't open the window. We got showers, and the glass wall moved, so the water shot all over the floor. I thought something was wrong, so I went downstairs to tell them, and they said it was normal. They even sent someone up to look. We had towels all over the floor because of the excessive amount but no one cared. The bathroom was small and cramped there was caulk everywhere to help prevent leaks that they said were normal. It was a hot mess. The bed was old and uncomfortable. I was really happy to leave. My husband said the positives were there were no bugs, the AC was cold and he liked the light in the closet. He also liked that there was a great barber shop next door. Oh I almost forgot the planks on the floor were separating. It's a NO for me.

This hotel is a little gem. It has a lot of bad reviews on here, but having just spent 4 nights there, I can honestly say we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is probably more of a 3 star rather than the once 4 star it had, and yes, the rooms are small and a little tired. However, that said the rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable ( we were a group of 8 people), the showers hot the toilet flushed well and the air conditioning worked albeit not very powerful. The breakfast had something for everyone. There were freshly baked pastries and bread rolls. Freshly made fresh fruit salad that was not out of a tin, fresh yoghurt. A selection of jams and honey. Freshly cooked scrambled egg and bacon, plus a selection of cold meat and cheese. You had a choice of self-serve coffee and hot chocolate from the machine, or the waiter would bring fresh coffee by the cup from the bar if you preferred barista style coffee. There was also a selection of fresh fruit juice. Breakfast was served from 7am till 10.30am. Location wise, it is perfect. It is right by the Spainish steps and within 30 minutes walk to the Vatican, Colosseum and Trivi fountain. It is surrounded by shops, bars, and restaurants. The staff were polite and friendly. All in all, if you want a posh hotel, then this is not for you. If you want a comfortable stay in a central location, then this is a great base to stay and visit all you want within walking distance.

This was definitely not a four star hotel. The room was old & dated. Our air conditioning didn't work most of our stay, slow or non existent wifi, mouldy and musty bathroom. Broken taps, no sunlight. It was very sub standard, no tissues, very minimal soap, shampoo products. Only thing going for it was location! We didn't expect luxury but this was extremely disappointing.
