This is probably the best quality per price in San Francisco. Great location in the middle of Union Square, and yet, still silent and peaceful. The hotel offers budget options for long-term stays. Friendly, professional staff and additional amenities. I highly enjoyed my stay in Ikon Hotel and I'll visit again!

For the location I would give this hotel 5 stars. I do love the old elevator. Really basic, not many amenities, but worked for us. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room. If it's a hot day, you'll cook in this room. We parked in the parking garage across the street and our vehicle was safe the whole time. The location was great for walking to public transit as well as walking to China town, bars and restaurants. BUT most everything shuts down in the area (food wise) at 9:00. Was definitely a dilemma for us. Noted for future visits.

I stayed here for 11 weeks this summer and it was a great experience- especially for the unbelievable price. Front desk staff are friendly and the rooms are well-maintained and cleaned weekly. And the location is great- close proximity to the Financial District, Union Square, Chinatown and more! Overall, an absolute steal of a hotel. I highly recommend for both short and longer term stays :)

I'm sorry about this review, because I'm sure they are trying their best to keep the place clean and in good repair, but I had a terrible experience at Hotel Ikon. The room was DIRTY: dust and paint everywhere, shoe prints on the dirty floor, trash in the trashcan, a broken door handle, and bugs... BEDBUGS Thanks goodness for the lovely bedbug waiting for me on top of the pillow! And I say thanks because seeing it so easily saved me from an itchy stay at Hotel Ikon. I left immediately. I must say that the receptionist was very nice. He made things easy. The hotel agreed on a refund when I showed them my pictures. (Advice: always take pictures! They tried to convince me a couple times that I had seen an innocent little bug so they could get out of paying me back, but luckily I had photos to prove it.) Also, careful with AirBnB. Be warned that you need to ask for a refund immediately (within 72 hours) or you won't get anything back from them.
