Smart hotel in northern Taipei. Disappointed to be 'upgraded' from a room with 2 double beds, to a room with just one, particularly since there were 3 of us. Reception told us the "doubles are singles" - bizarre. This apart, we had a good stay.

After what seemed like a bit of an exhaustive search for a proper hotel in Taipei that had good access to the MRT, uber, taxi as well as walking distance amenities and overall good location...this was our choice. PLEASE do get the breakfast part in your stay. Ate everyday there and it was really great for all types of cuisines and dietary preferences. Most importantly the service was excellent and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Attached to a lovely mall/food court which was top notch and I am sad there wasn't enough time to explore it all. I even used their laundry service and it was awesome. Pros: good location, excellent service, spacious rooms for price Cons: not really much (ummm smallish but stylish lobby? If you care about those kind of things)

All Hotel Indigos are nice, modern contemporary with themes reflecting its locale. This hotel's are usually courteous and prompt but its restaurant staff lacks the couth to carry the international IHG brand...so does most of their Asian clienteles (here and elsewhere). This is our third and longest stay at five days at this particular IHG hotel so it's been quite wary to have to deal with the same issues regardless of a high membership status. (There was also an issue with the room upgrade as their computer was malfunctioning.) The restaurant's breakfast is okay vegan friendly-wise, offering two hot dishes and leafy greens with nuts and an assortment of toppings. A female hot bar staff acted like she was pissed to have to come out of the kitchen to attend to making me blanched leafy veggies (part of the hot noodle soups). Most of the front of the kitchen support staff act as if they're at a party once it's 10/10:30. The floor sweep and mop "auntie" even mopped under my table when I was seated alone, leaving a headache-inducing bleach smell behind. Unfortunately, this lack of concern for its vegan clientele seems the case for most of the IHG hotels in Taiwan and Japan. But Japan has a more pleasant staff across the board.

Indigo review Taipei Nov 23 As an IHG shareholder, I am obviously loyal to the banner and try to frequent many brands across my travels. Indigo was the last one to try in Taipei and I’d say it’s close to perfection. The superbe: Service Cleanness and space of the rooms Price / quality Quietness The T.R restaurant and its super quality lunch set. Amazing tastes, not the mediocre quality as in other hotels. The to improve : Management agreed - after our chat - to correct the representation of the rooms on the website as they might lead to some confusion. Indigo is going green soon which will further reduce some plastic usage. Copying how they do in the other IHG banner downtown should be the way forward. The breakfast choice is very extended for a 4 star hotel, but we found the price a bit high , closer to a 5 star IHG price setting. For + 800 NtD, I wished they could offer poached eggs and fresh made juice. Overall score : 4.5 / 5 Recommended and likely our next stay as well.
