Simply put, the best thing about this hotel is its location. Its nearly unbeatable as you are in the middle of the gothic quarter and you are less than 100m from Liceu Metro Station. This makes it so easy to explore Barcelona. The room itself was adequate. I think I got the smallest room in the whole hotel but was still updated and felt modern. Everything was clean and tidy with basic amenities. The biggest downside is that the rooms don't have spectacular sound insulation, I could hear my neighbors pretty clearly. Overall I would happily stay here again.

Great location, just steps away from La Rambla and Liceu station. Basic, clean rooms. I was a bit surprised to find the exit door (which is also the only exit in case of fire) being locked one night when the person at reception was not around. I had to wait a few minutes and the finally call their telephone number (while standing right next to it) so I could get someone to come. This is a serious fire safety risk. To be fair, this happened only once out of the three nights we stayed. I hope they can figure out a better system (only block entry not exit) when there's no one at the reception.

I stayed in the hotel for 7 days as I was in Barcelona following a week course. Upon my arrival, the bathroom was still a bit dirty but everything else was fine. However, my room card often didn’t work so I had to keep going to reception to get it sorted. The staff were generally friendly and the location is great. It is a simple place but it was good enough. The walls however were a bit thin so I could hear neighbours getting it on and alarms going off for 10-15 mins so I had to put on noise cancelling earphones. Also, the wifi was too unstable for me. Great little hotel next La Rambla/Liceu Theater (metro station). Like all hotels in Europe central city, it’s small. But Clean, superb location, friendly staff. Breakfast is at next door from 8-10 am. One drink and crossaint and toast. I was rubbed by a Moroccan guy and my phone was stolen. I was walking with phone in hand for directions and he was on a bike snatched my phone right off my hands. These types of situations happen all the time in Spain unfortunately. All the staff spent hours helping me, they were incredibly nice and helpful, they did everything to make my trip easier.

I wat at the Hotel Inglés just one night but I can assure that the employees of the hotel are extremely professional, kind and honest people. I forgot in my room a valuable ring and I only realized that when I came back to my country. I called the hotel and they didn't find it at first but they guaranteed to me to do everything they could to find it and they did!! Thank you very much
