I recently stayed at Hotel Praga in Madrid and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of comfort provided. The hotel truly lived up to its reputation, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment that made my stay enjoyable. The room, Room 301, was well-appointed and comfortable. The bed was cozy, and the room had all the amenities one could ask for, making it a perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing in Madrid. However, there was one aspect that did affect the quality of my stay - the noise levels in the morning. The cleaning staff, while efficient and thorough, were quite noisy during their morning rounds. The noise was particularly noticeable in Room 301, where I was staying. The sound of cleaning equipment and chatter was quite disruptive, especially when I was trying to enjoy a few extra hours of sleep in the morning. While I understand that cleanliness is a priority, I believe that a more quiet approach to cleaning, especially in the early morning hours, would greatly enhance the guest experience. In conclusion, my stay at Hotel Praga was comfortable and enjoyable, but the noise from the cleaning staff in the morning was a bit of a drawback. I hope the hotel management takes note of this feedback and implements measures to ensure a quieter morning environment.

Honestly it started out great, as me and my family moved into the hotel. The rooms were not bad. Upon arrival we decided to get some dinner at the hotel restaurant. I ordered a burger; the rest of my family ordered some pizza. The only good thing on the burger was the bread. The sauce seemed insipid. The beef patty was too chewy and even maybe a bit old. The cheese wasn’t melted. The bacon was soggy. The fries were completely cold and soggy. The pizza dough was too hard, and the cheese used on the pizza was awful, it felt like it was old and soggy and cheap and cold. Anyway, I would recommend this hotel only for a night or two as the rooms were okay. But if u expect to dine in the hotel, I would advise you not to.

Rooms were nice but we had many issues with the hotel. 1) Upon arrival we had questions regarding cancellations, just to explore what the options would be. The receptionist was incredibly rude and unhelpful, creating a scene rather than offering assistance. After some time, he was eventually happy to help, but to require negotiation just for simple customer service is ridiculous. 2) The rooms do not have kettles and for hot water guests have to go to the bar. For a cup of hot water, the hotel requires you to pay for the one-use cup, and the waiter waived her fingers and shouted when we asked if we could take / buy biscuits. Again, a simple gesture of customer service, but the staff were unwilling to help as it was an inconvenience. At any other hotel, these would all be complementary, and the staff would be willing to assist. 3) The walls are thin, and we could hear our neighbours screaming at eachother the entire stay. 4) We forgot a jacket in our hotel room, and after checking-out and moving cities the hotel refused to assist in getting the jacket to us in anyway. I understand they won’t find someone to deliver it for us, but the least they could do is potentially post it if we offered to pay for all shipping. But no, no assistance. The receptionist said the jacket is as good as gone unless we return to Madrid and get it ourselves. The hotel has a zero policy for assisting with lost and found. Again, incredibly unhelpful and such a shame. Nice hotel, but the service and staff were just shocking.

*Horrible experience with elevators and breakfast buffet* At the breakfast buffet, it was a disaster. We were up pretty early because we were getting picked up by our tour guide to leave the city. I think the other guest were in a similar boat so therefore everyone made it to breakfast at the same time. Did not find a clean table to sit . We got super lucky and were able to squeeze in a table with others that were not part of our group. There were multiple tables with dirty plates and no one coming around to clean up and free up space. Moreover the line for coffee was ridiculous and when I pressed the coffee button water came gushing out. I then had to walk over to the other end of the other coffee line to get one cup of coffee. It was all too hectic and stressful that I did not even have a proper breakfast. After finishing up there we had to rush up to our room to grab our luggage because they were picking us up in the lobby. The elevators were not working properly. They were super slow and when it arrived to our floor it was full and we couldn't get on. This was the case for many. I even saw older people dragging their luggage down the stairs because there were no other way . I was one who had to drag our luggage down the stairs in order to make time. Bottom line, need more friendly staff at busy breakfast time cleaning and helping guests. The elevators NEED to work properly especially with so many people. Its very unfair that anyone has to drag their big luggage down the stairs.

Staff was friendly, we got to check in 2 hours earlier at no extra charge! Parking garage is small and narrow so wouldn’t want to park a larger car there. From the hotel to Plaza Mayor expect to pay just under 10 bucks for an Uber. Water tasted poor and smelt like chlorine, I’d recommend buying bottled water at the Lidl supermarket across the street. Fair amount of noise even on the 5th floor from the busy street below. Windows can only actually close if done by staff, they have the key to lock them, meaning you won’t be able to reopen them without assistance. Bed was fine for me but my partner found the mattress to be hard and the pillow too thin and soft. Price/quality wise it was a steal for staying in the capital of Spain.
