Hotel The Public

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at what was advertised as a 4-star hotel, but the reality was far from it. My expectations were set high when I booked a standard room with a king-size bed, but what I encountered upon check-in left me thoroughly disappointed. First and foremost, the room I was given was significantly smaller than the advertised 21 square meters. To make matters worse, a colossal column was awkwardly placed right in the middle of the room, blocking access to both the bed and the window. It was clear that this room was not suitable for a comfortable stay. To add insult to injury, the king-size bed I had eagerly anticipated turned out to be a queen-sized one. After an extensive argument with the hotel staff, the manager reluctantly admitted that there were no king-size beds in the entire hotel and that the published information was a "mistake." I was moved to a room without the obstructive column, but no compensation was offered for their failure to provide the promised bed. Both rooms I stayed in were plagued by darkness and a distinct lack of cleanliness. Cobwebs adorned the ceilings, and the state of the toilet left much to be desired. In the second room, one had to practically leap over a puddle in the shower just to access the toilet. The glass door separating the shower from the toilet failed to close properly, causing water from the shower to create yet another puddle in the toilet area. I had to request a change of towels twice due to their age and lack of cleanliness. Furthermore, there was a severe shortage of places to hang towels and clothes in the bathroom. The disappointment didn't stop at the room; it extended to the breakfast as well. The breakfast spread was below average, falling far short of the expectations one would have of a purported 4-star hotel. Pastries and sweets were conspicuously absent, and fresh juice came at an additional cost of 3 euros. In summary, I cannot fathom how this hotel claims to be a 4-star establishment. It falls short by every standard I know. I strongly recommend against staying here if you have any alternative options available. My experience was marred by false advertising, uncomfortable rooms, subpar cleanliness, and a lackluster breakfast.

The hotel and rooms were built in industrial style, with quite well executed layout. - Be mindful about the location of the hotel - it is situated next to the Istiklal street. It gets very noisy, especially in the evenings with nearby party places running in full swing. The room was not adequately sound-proofed. I initially booked superior king room but asked for a quieter room and ended up in smaller windowless room. It was comfortably quiet for me.
