The hotel and service is fine, perfectly okay for the price. No noise, cleaning superb. Breakfast great, personal everything really - I can't complain. However the location.. in short we left the hotel early (should have been there a week left after 3 days) We had an incident with local when we were returning to the hotel around 8-9pm .. he stopped his car as we were walking on sidewalk, just kept shouting in Italian, getting aggressively close, when we walked few meters ignoring him (telling him that we don't understand) he just drove his car and again stopped in front of us to confront us, as it escalated friend punched him.. thankfully another local was there to save the day otherwise I don't know what would happen, he even threw glass bottle at us and then agresivelly drove away. I did not felt safe after that and therefore booked hotel in more touristy part to make sure more people is around during the evening hours. Because of the location I would recommend it only with car, or just return by the shuttle bus that is offered by the hotel - we couldn't use it as we were in different part of city, but after that experience I wouldn't walk the street ever again. I think it was rare, it doesn't happen every day, but I just couldn't stay there.

Really nice hotel, by far the friendliest service we had while touring Italy but the location is not great. Very much in an industrial area and nothing close by apart from a toy warehouse and a couple of cafes. At night time there is a shuttle bus hourly to the city centre which is a great addition.

The hotel itself was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was good. Our room was very small, I think it was meant for single occupancy but our room was not ready so they let us have this one. Although small the room was very clean and room service came every day with fresh towels and to make the bed up. Not sure about the location, did feel a bit like we weren't in the best area and didn't feel completely safe but it is handy for train stations and not far to the ferry terminal. Lots and lots of graffiti and not the good kind either, these graffiti artists are not Banksy!

It's very much a three star three star hotel. So to summarise, I'm not particularly fussy myself. As long as I have a bed I'm happy but otherwise this hotel is pretty lacking and should only be a choice if you're able to get it cheap. First off, it's located right next to the red light area so each morning, on the way to the train station you're met with used condoms, human feces etc. Not the hotels fault but still a factor. Next, on my first day my key broke, locking me out of the room, the staff were able to fix this and we got a room upgrade to one which actually had a physical shower and not one of those disabled bathrooms. The reason the disabled bathrooms are bad is because they flood the entire room (not just the bathroom) as soon as you use it. My friends also had the same issue in their room. Breakfast food was okay but the one day they clearly hadn't bothered to clean under my table as there was an old sausage from a previous day's breakfast which had a trail of ants around it. Another day I saw a cockroach. At one point I went to eat a plum only to find out had holes all over it where some insect had really had a feast. I pointed it out to the chef/cook who picked that one out and put it in the bin. This revealed that the ones underneath were just as bad or worse but the chef/cook seemed to either not notice or care. Safe to say I didn't eat the plum. To top it all off, Italy charges €2.50 per day per person tourist tax at the hotel. Considering the above, I don't get what this money is going towards because it's not making me want to return to the area. Don't get my wrong, the beds were comfy and when I named to figure out the air con it was lovely. Just don't go expecting, or paying for the Ritz.
