Very disappointed in our stay this past weekend. As someone who NEVER complains I feel as if this is worthy of a bad review. We stayed over last weekend 12/9/23 and decided to go with the Hyatt in the financial district because of its great location. The room was $586 for one nights stay which was in my opinion all of the money for a small single bed room. I chose to stay here figuring it would be an all around great place. The staff was very polite and we checked in and went up the room. Upon entering the room it was about 80° in our room and we moved the digital thermostat down to 65°. We left and returned later that evening from dinner and it was still scolding uncomfortably hot. We opened the window and turned the TV on to cool it. It was loud outside (naturally being the city) decided to close and go to bed. Awoke at 3am SUPER uncomfortable once again and didn’t fall back asleep. Mentioned it to the staff and they said that this was an ongoing issue with the heating system and they were updating and renovating rooms with newer system. I asked if there was anything they could do thinking maybe knock $100 off would be the least they could do as it was a horrible nights sleep. They comped us our breakfast (sigh) and said that was the most they could do. Very disappointed and will never give Hyatt another penny. Like I said I’m not one to complain and 80° was not a exaggeration of temperature, neither my wife or I slept more than a couple hours and left regretting our choice to spend a little extra on a higher end hotel.

Good location for lower Manhattan but it’s not like the Hyatt Centric in Midtown which is definitely a higher caliber hotel. The soaking tubs are awesome after a long cold day walking around and seem to have endless supply of hot water. The automatic roll down shades with buttons next to the bed is convenient. The beds are very low to the ground as they don’t have box springs. The room is not well insulated as the city noise intrudes with windows closed. Maid service was excellent and beds are firm and cozy.

A lovely Hyatt! We had a great family stay. We were in the city to do some holiday activities with our kids. We love being downtown this time of year to get a break from the crowds. My husband had stayed at this Hyatt for work over nights (his office is across the street and we live in CT) and had a good experience. This time of year it's a much better value than the midtown hotels and you still have every train close by. The room was beautiful, and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. We would definitely stay again as a family.

The room we had was spacious, on a very high level as requested. Front desk workers that we encountered seemed friendly except for two women working who were there to solely work. The location was good for viewing the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn bridge, also a subway near if needed. Had plenty of hot water. My biggest complaint was that our refrigerator was not working and I had bought food that I wanted to take home out of state that all went to waste. When we requested a new fridge that didn’t smell like rotten food had been in it, they said we’d have to wait until the next day which was the day we were leaving.
