Truly fantastic hotel. Amazing decor, outstanding food and comfortable beds. What made the stay special was the incredible staff. Extremely welcoming and friendly. A special mention to Sifiso who provided faultless service with a smile and positive energy. Keep up the good work! I will be back!

Having just returned from South Africa, myself and my friend stayed at this hotel on 3 separate occasions during our trip. We were lucky enough to have stayed in different rooms on each stay, and I have to say we were very impressed with the standard of the rooms. This was my first trip to Johannesburg, and I can confidently say that when I return I will only stay at the Voco. Everything from the actual location, the quality of the food and most importantly the customer service provided by the staff was brilliant. On our final stay there was a mix up with the room we had booked. However, the way in which the issue was dealt with was customer service at its best. We had booked one room with two beds, which was not available, and so we were offered a suite and an additional room. As my friend had a child, she took the suite and the room I had, literally felt like an apartment. Upon joining my friend in the suite (for a girlie chat), the hotel had provided (as an apology) a chilled bottle of wine with a fruit and cheese platter. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. I also have to commend the porters and the door staff who always had a smile on their faces. On each of our stays we felt like we were coming home. Easily one of the best hotels I have stayed at 100%. I can't wait to return.

Beautiful hotel with large rooms. Great restaurant and coffee shop in the lobby. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of options. Essentially in between 3 malls so there is a lot of food and shopping within a short walk. The gym is also worth noting. Multiple floors to include cardio and lots of weights. Plenty of towels and water as well.

Had one night here before a flight back home. The hotel is located in a safe neighbourhood and right next to the Rosebank mall which was convenient. The service was great and we appreciated the ride in the buggy to dinner close by. The room was spacious and modern. We appreciated all the little extras that the hotel provided as part of our honeymoon and my partner’s birthday - thank you! The breakfast at Proud Mary downstairs was great with lots of options to choose from. The only negative was that there was a fire evacuation drill for the businesses in the building, which we were not aware of and therefore had to evacuate and wait outside with the others until we realised what was going on. We figured it out on our own, luckily before everyone started using the elevator again. I understand they may not be able to tell us this in advance (in case there actually was a fire?) but would be nice to be told once downstairs.

On the positive, Good check-in and my platinum status was recognised. A funky-sort of room (not my style for daily living, but cool for a short-term hotel stay). Had a comfortable night's sleep on the bed (although drinking a cocktail beforehand didn't help the sleep quality), and found plenty of power outlets, including European sockets and USB, which is always useful for travellers. The ledges in the bathroom and shower were also handy - helpfully especially for the bathroom, which didn't otherwise have a full bench with the sink. The sink was deep enough, though, to be able to easily fill a water bottle. Had has nice breakfast hotcakes, although a bit less ricotta probably would help the flavour balance. On the small niggles, the access gates into the lift well don't seem entirely reliable and were stuck more than once. The lifts also seem quick slow - yes, hardly the world's biggest problem. I didn't explore the entire multi-level gym facility, but that's a great offer; however, one treadmill was not working, and the other one restarted itself after running for about 20 minutes the first time, and seemed like it was bouncing around on the plastic quite a lot, despite not being particularly heavy or running overly quickly.
