Has a really lovely stay! Most amazing view, especially on the sea view side! The breakfast also had stunning views out to the sea, castle and Alicante beach! Rooms are large and comfortable. Breakfast had an okay selection, they changed the fruit and pastries daily but would have been nice to have a bit more variety! Pool is in the shade so you get a tiny bit of sun first thing in the morning but that’s it. Over all good, would stay again mainly for the location as it was so quick to get to the beach, main areas and old town which has lots of restaurants and cafes! 🌟

We had a good time at the hotel between 7-10.12.2023. The room was quite big even though it looked a bit old. The bathroom had both bathtub and bide which was really nice. The Nespresso machines at breakfast made really nice coffee, I really appreciated that. Breakfast is overall good but could be improved with some smoothies. Dinner was good, not buffet but still good food. You have a free Cava drink in the casino across the road. Me and my wife took this opportunity to visit a casino for the first time ever. The gym could be improved with more equipment like heavier dumbbells, a bench press etc. Staff is nice and cooperative.

Great hotel, the swimming pool is so quiet, such a good place to relax, I wish the swimming pool had some sunny. It’s very near to the beach, you are able to to everything on foot, restaurants nearby. There is 2 restaurants at the hotel but only saw one, the second wasn’t mentioned nut a friend find it by mistake. There is also a separated swimming pool but I don’t know who could acess. There is a spa, amazing, really worth the experience. There is also massage. The view from the hotel is so amazing.

Disappointed with the room and the view. We booked a double room with views of the marina. We confirmed at check in that we wanted a double bed. When we arrived in the room it was 2 single beds. So we had to go back and ask to change it again. Not great at 11pm after a long day of travelling. When we go to the new room instead of a lovely view of the marina we can see the back of a nightclub. Not quite the luxury hotel experience we were expecting from Melia.

Stayed for 5 nights 2nd to 7th December. Good: view from reception/bar restaurant is breathtaking. The rooms are well appointed decent bathroom with great showers. The beds are very comfortable. The spa is fantastic. View of marina from hotel is pretty nonexistent. Bad: told at reception on checking in that 10% off spa if booked through reception....what wasn't made clear that this only applied at time of checking in....so when we booked spa 2 days later, no discount. Breakfast, 22 euros each (88 euros in total per day for 4 of us) was awful. Poor selection. Inadequate options. Food not replenished frequently. For 6 euros in Alicante I got coffee, toastada, tomato ham and orange juice. Had previously stayed in MELIÁ level 5 times. Will not return to Porta Maris
