Istanberry - Berry Life Apartments

Worst place ever. I am a 63 years old retired dentist. And I travel frequently across United States and the World. By far, this is the only place that I had to leave after the first night, even though my reservation was non refundable for 6 nights. To begin, the place was not what they had advertised. I paid over $1,800.00 for a worthless 3 bedroom apartment. They had advertised the apartment for 15 people. We were only 9, but there were not enough beds. No blankets. No air conditioning in 2 of the 3 bedrooms. Broken shower, tiny living room, broken chair, very dirty building with strong smell of urine ( possibly of the homeless people of the street ), no elevator. And the first night ( the only night that we had to stay ), my brother slept on the floor with no mattress, blanket, or anything else to use as bed. We spent a sleepless night. Couldn't take a shower after a long trip. The morning after, we left for another hotel which was much better and less expensive. They refused to give me any partial refund and told me that this apartment and 90 other buildings belong to a very rich and powerful family and there is nothing I could do. As a result, a night of misery cost me $1,846.37 And since I was the one who had made the reservation, I had never felt so embarrassed, in presence of my family. Unfortunately, this event had a negative effect on my whole one week trip, and my view of the entire country and it's people. Since I am a world traveler and a forgiving person, I am confident that I will travel to Turkey again. But, I STROGLY RECOMMED AGAINST STAYING AT ISTANBERRY - BERRY LIFE APARTMENTS OR ANY OF THEIR AFFILIATES. Last, once I arrived back home, I have disputed the charges due to false advertising. This is my first ever bad review for any place.

Booked 4 apartments for a party of 20 in August, wonderful experience thanks to Güner and his team. Excellent value for money (25 euros per person per night, breakfast included and one-way airport transfer), clean and well-equipped apartments (AC, dishwasher, washing machine), walking distance to Istiklal street and Taksim square, frequent buses on nearby boulevard to get to the old town... The only downside really is the street some (not all) of the apartments are in (Ömer Hayyam) has quite a bit of traffic. Even though the street is one way single lane, the noise could bother some. All in all a great place to stay, thanks Güner!
