Location: Excellent The hotel's location in the city center is its biggest draw. Perfectly situated for sightseeing, it's within walking distance of Independence Hall, numerous museums, shopping areas, and dining options. A visit to the nearby Reading Terminal Market is highly recommended. Service: Good Service at the hotel is commendable. The staff is responsive, quick, and attentive, ensuring that guests' needs are adequately met. Hotel Facilities: Average The hotel itself, an older building, has its limitations. It lacks many amenities that guests might expect. The elevators are notably slow, and the overall quality of hotel items is subpar. A particular concern was the poor quality of the complimentary razors, which caused discomfort. Hidden Fees: Disappointing A significant downside is the additional resort fee of $28 per day, which adds to the overall cost of the stay. This fee is mandatory, regardless of any prior reservation fees paid. The only perk included is a $20 daily credit for snacks or food, but this is often insufficient due to the high prices at the on-site market/restaurant. Comparison with the other Local Kimpton: It's worth noting that we visited another Kimpton hotel in the vicinity and had a more positive experience there. This comparison somewhat heightened our expectations, which weren't fully met at this location. Overall Experience: Satisfactory Despite the drawbacks, the stay was overall pleasant. The excellent location significantly contributed to this satisfaction. However, I was expecting a bit more from the Kimpton brand, especially in terms of amenities and value for money.

Nothing. Works. The elevator feels like I'm on a Disney ride. Our bed didn't even have a blanket on it which makes me question if they even cleaned it. The shower only does too hot and please enjoy your burns, warm is just not an option. The hotel staff is overwhelmed trying to provide the "amenities" so sometimes they just don't, but they make you pay this dumb resort fee anyway. I'm considering just going home early.

Great location in Center City. I loved the service. The staff was kind enough to write a welcome note for my partner upon entry. This was white glove service. Beautiful lobby. Great view on the 22nd floor

My husband and I always stay at Kimptons when we travel due to how notoriously dog friendly they are. This particular location was the most unimpressive Kimpton I’ve stayed at. Rooms were basic and nowhere near the luxury I usually get from the Kimpton chain. They were clean, so there’s that. For the price and nightly “amenity fee” they charge, my expectations were the same as other locations I’ve stayed at. Although my pet was welcome, they made me feel as though it was an inconvenience to them. I should mention that my dog is extremely well behaved and always travels with us. Luckily I already know about the daily social hour in the lobby, because the front desk staff did not bother to mention this or any amenities to me. She seemed to be in a rush, although there was nobody else in the lobby. I don’t think that having guests ride the service elevator is appropriate, but it was the only one that appeared to be working (and not very well at that). Bartender at the restaurant was great, as well as the gentleman pouring drinks at social hour. The valet took anywhere from 30-45 mins to retrieve my vehicle once requested, but they were friendly at least. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the great location. Plenty of restaurants and stores within a block or 2 in any direction.
