Really great accommodation! Staff were very kind and attentive to all of our needs and requests. They accommodated a lot of our luggage travel with ease, and them assisting us in English was very helpful. Kyoto Beer Lab is right next door that has some reasonably priced beers for folks who are itching for some beer.

Loved our stay here, the rooms are really memorable with the traditional bathrooms and flooring throughout requiring you to remove your shoes at reception for some slippers. Staff were very friendly and keen to help and make sure you had what you need. The traditional cypress wood bath was the most memorable touch and gave that onsen-style experience from the comfort of your own room. Enjoyed also having the opportunity to wear a kimono!

This has been the best accomodation - If I could rate it higher then 5 stars I would. Traditional but modern facilities. Lovely, helpful staff who speak English. Room is beautiful and spacious, the cedar bath tub was an extra treat! Love the locked cabinet to place your shoes, and change into the slippers provided. Very tranquil next to the canal. A close walk to a Cafe, McDonald's, easy bus trip from the city. Highly recommend this lovely place.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, they made the experience even better! We got a free room upgrade, woo hoo! The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable - the perfect place to stay after an exhausting day being out. The location was a few minutes walk away from the bus stop, the train station was a little bit farther out. We didn't mind the walk, it's in a cute neighborhood area. It's conveniently close to major tourist attractions like Nishiki Market, Kiyomiza-dera Temple, Gion, and Fushimi Inari. Their luggage storage system was remarkably convenient; they held our bags both before check-in and after check-out at no extra cost. We ordered a Japanese breakfast for an extra fee, it was great! We only booked for one night but wished we had booked for our entire stay in Kyoto. Would definitely book again. Here are some pics of the neighborhood and the Japanese breakfast we had.
